let it SNOW.
[So much for the necessities. So much for the orchard. So much for all the lovely places that have been created here--
--the only thing visible this morning is a thick coat of snow, white everywhere, broken up only by ominous shadows and lights.
Aren't you lucky to be inside? Inside a plain little stone house, with a sleeping bag and at least one other person. There's a bathroom, but it's not very good at giving you hot water. Everything's cold.
And outside, the wind howls...]

Um, good morning... [She scratches the back of her head nervously.] You, um, you didn't happen to do anything to the bed, did you? I was pretty sure I fell asleep in one.
no subject
Hm.

[She turns to face the window. The weather was miserable, which explained why it was so cold in here, if nothing else. It had started snowing the night before, but how did it get this bad so quickly? Was it even still morning, or for that matter, the following day? She took a look at her hand, the two names she'd written down on her palm now smudged and nearly unreadable.]
...Damn.
[She turned to the older woman again.] I'm guessing you don't know how they managed that, either.
no subject
[There's a minute, barely noticeable tensing of her posture. She's noticed the lights, but there is something else out there. It looks as if she'll have to go on an impromptu scouting mission.]
I don't. [a beat.] Stay here. [She speaks calmly, but it is clear that she's giving an order.
She's heading out the door without another word.]
Sorry, just remembered what day it was, had giftwrapping to do. >_<
[The door slams shut before she can finish.]
...weather.
[Is that really the safest thing to do right about now? The woman looked tough, sure, but tough people still get frostbite, and the temperature was only part of it. Iwasawa had multiple layers on, and she was worrying about frostbite in here. Outside, there was wind, snow, maybe hail, and... whatever those lights were out there. The ones she hadn't noticed until now. It wasn't like anything she'd seen before, but having never been to Antarctica, she couldn't say whether it was normal, especially as obscured as the window was. Still, she stood up close to it, and kept her eyes trained on the world outside, mumbling to no one in particular.]
You've got two minutes, lady.
it's okay! sorry for the wait!
They have shapes, she notices now. They are moving, unhindered by the weather, and there are many of them. They don't seem hostile, but she is a great distance away, and does not have the desire to test her luck. Ahead, it is as white as the eye can see. Even she can't spot anything, other than the odd creatures. Going further would be unwise...she is in unknown territory, and there would be no way to retrace her path.
She returns not too long after, displeased at the lack of information.]
Trapped. Again. This Queen is quite hospitable to her guests. [a beat, and she looks over at the girl.] Are you not cold?
no subject
[And in she came. Good timing there. As to her question, well, she's kind of shivering. A lot. Her breath turns to fog in front of her. Is she cold, you ask?]
A little, I guess.
no subject
You'll need to get back into that. [She motions to the sleeping bag.] Try to stay warm.
I'll search for firewood and other necessities when the storm lifts. [If it lifts. And after that, she goes back to sitting against the wall.]
no subject
You sure you don't want it? I can tough it out, probably. [She really can't, but she's nice like that, so she'll ask anyway.]
no subject
No. I don't need it.
no subject
[She reaches over for the sleeping bag, tucking her lower extremities into it and curling up good and tight. Once she's as comfortable as she's going to get, she blows into her hands and rubs them together to get some heat going, then reaches over for the guitar.]
You mind if I play a little? Too much silence and I might go stir crazy in here.
no subject
[She keeps an eye on the girl, but it's more idle curiosity than anything else. A musician, then. She nods.]
That is fine. [She crosses her arms, and glances out of the window.]
no subject
As the song comes to a close, she rubs her hands together for warmth once more.]
so sorry for the wait ;;
There's a nod of approval, after a moment.] That was very nice. [She tilts her head.] How long have you been playing that instrument?
