[Now that the automaton invasion has been mostly taken care of at the fortress, Jessica's out to catch up with people. She's been around, Bulbasaur in tow, and has settled down for lunch near the ferris wheel. The bulbasaur is occasionally tugging her toward the ride, occasionally walking toward it and looking back at her expectantly. Jessica doesn't move from her seat on a rock.]
I assure you, there is no chance whatsoever that I'm getting on that with anyone, ever. Well, other than physical threats. Sorry.
[She finishes her meal and turns on the vine.]
Hey, is it just me, or has our population kind of... dropped recently?

Re: [Action]
...good morning to you, too.
It's a ferris wheel. You ride on it. I think this one only works when there's two people in a car though. Which is another reason I will not be riding it with you [she adds to Bulbasaur.]
Re: [Action]
Wait... you ride it? How does that work? And you need two people... hey, why don't you and I try it out?
Re: [Action]
The motor down there turns it, and the cars go up and around.
And no. I don't do rides that go up.
Re: [Action]
Well, you have to have two people, right? And it doesn't go that far up, right? I could cover your eyes for you.

Oh God... [Bulbasaur has decided to try vine-whipping its way onto the ferris wheel instead.] You've given her ideas.

I've noticed that certain people have vanished, though new ones have kept appearing.
Perhaps it is a good sign, and we too will be returning home soon. Or perhaps the population simply fluctuates here.
Re: [action]
Yeah, I figured it's just a... thing. I'd just noticed there were some people I knew missing, and... I dunno, I wanted to make sure... or something.
[action]
Yes, two of the women from my world seem to have disappeared, though Reeve is still here. It can be difficult to judge, as sometimes people fall out of view for a time, though they are not truly gone. It is a shame that society is not more organized here, or we would be better able to tell.
Re: [action]
I'd start taking attendance or something, but that seems like it'd probably get on some nerves. Just kind of sucks, I guess. Or maybe not. I mean, most of us DO want to go back home.
[action]
I was referring to more of an organized settlement, like a city or town. A roll call would be all but useless, considering how scattered we are.
I see no reason for concern, as we are relatively certain that those who disappear return home. I am pleased for them. [Seldom has "I am pleased" been said in a more impassive way.]

Yes, it has-- I think. You've been here much longer than I, does it seem to fluctuate much? In any discernible pattern?
By the by, you were a terrific help the other day-- if you'd like to come around again, we can see what we can cook up in terms of entertainment! You're welcome to bring your little friend, of course. I'm giving the parts I've salvaged from the robots a good going over, trying to make sense of it all. Sound appealing?
no subject
[Perk! (At least, inasmuch as Jessica's expression usually changes.) Things to do?! With science?! She is so in.] Absolutely. My impression just from observation is that we're not going to get a whole lot from it; I mean, Sephiroth and I checked out this factory from a while ago and nothing there even made sense... but there might be something.
no subject
But! You're right, there might be something! Which is worth investigating, I think. Gives me something to do, anyhow. Us, I mean. [Reeve smiles.]
You're welcome here any time, of course. I was wondering! How does your "Pokemon" get along with the robots? Vice versa?
no subject
[She gives a Jessica-almost-smile back.] Yeah, I'm all for having something to do. Otherwise, I don't even know what I'd end up doing, once I ran out of exam review material. [That is probably a joke. Mostly.]
Oh, they're pretty cool, I guess? Like, Bulbasaur's kinda jealous when I'm giving the robots attention, but she just stays out of their way the rest of the time. And I think they're just sorta interested in her but not in the, uh, Alien Abduction way. (If that's a thing where you guys come from...)
[Bulbasaur heard its name and demands to make sure proper respect is being given!]
no subject
Honestly though, Jessica, sometimes I find it's best to just to give in and feel awful for a little while. When I try to deny my feelings or stamp them down, they just seem to come back to me that much stronger. But! That's just me. [She smiles understandingly. She does that a lot.]
As I said, if you're looking for non-judgmental company, you're welcome here. You can feel as bad as you like and we'll see if we can pull off "productive" and "entertaining" at the same time.
What's "Alien Abduction"?
(no subject)
Damn, I never meant to drop this. So late! *sadface*
It's all good; backtagging is love :D

Re: [Action]
And... is that a pokemon there?
Re: [Action]
Muuun!
Re: [Action]
It's really cute. Does it always float like that?
Oh, sorry. That's Bulbasaur over there, trying to wheedle a ride out of me. Come over and say hi, Bulbasaur.
[It hops down from the car and trots over.]
no subject
... Is that a real Bulbasaur? That's so cool! I've only ever seen those in books before! [Crouches to hold her hand out to Bulbasaur.] Hi, there! Jessica, you're so lucky!
