[Now that the automaton invasion has been mostly taken care of at the fortress, Jessica's out to catch up with people. She's been around, Bulbasaur in tow, and has settled down for lunch near the ferris wheel. The bulbasaur is occasionally tugging her toward the ride, occasionally walking toward it and looking back at her expectantly. Jessica doesn't move from her seat on a rock.]

I assure you, there is no chance whatsoever that I'm getting on that with anyone, ever. Well, other than physical threats. Sorry.

[She finishes her meal and turns on the vine.]

Well, maybe she has a reason for wanting people to "hook up." Maybe something good will happen.

[She does not sigh as she heads over to Zenobia's computer. It's tempting, but people who're deprived of video games and computers deserve sympathy. She takes the mouse and jiggles it.] The mouse here controls your cursor. Use the cursor to hit the scroll bars here.

I... really doubt that. Especially with the kidnapping thing.

Oh, neat. [She plays around with the mouse]. So this is like a glowy book on love. [She turns to Jessica. The girl might just be more interesting than this book that references things that have nothing to do with her own world].

[She blinks at the question, taken completely by surprise. She's grateful that neither of her skin colors show blushing.] ...why d'you want to know?

Because you're interesting. And love is an interesting subject. So I'm curious.

[She crosses her arms.] ...I'm not really sure how you got "interesting" from me after being around me. Unless you just mean how I look.

You helped me out over the vine when I got here. You compiled all this information about this world. You know about these strange devices. And yes, you look different, too. Put all that together and you get 'interesting.'

[Zenobia tilts her head.] Is being 'interesting' a bad thing where you come from?

I would describe that as more "nerdy." And not something most people think of as interesting unless they're also nerds.

Well... the kind of "interesting" that I am is.

That still doesn't answer the fact that you seem to take interesting to mean bad, somehow.

And yes, there were some people who thought I was interesting because of the wing. For most people, the word was "monstrous," though. There's a big difference.

[She takes a breath and steps back to lean on a game cabinet, arms still tight across her chest.]

I'm not interesting. I like boring things, I don't do fun stuff, and there's no reason to try and interview me or whatever.

I figured you know that already. Don't you try to figure things out, too? Why did you get all this information together for the pamphlet? Isn't it because there are things you wanted to know?

I want to get to know people. And hearing about how they get along with other people is the best way to do that. [That's not 100% correct as far as her motivation goes, but Zenobia does want to get to know people.]

There's a difference between getting information to help other people and prying into someone's personal life when you've just met them.
