11th Inversion [Vine/Action]

[It's a bright, beautiful day in the Gardens. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, yet the Vine shows one very soaked Akiha Tohno. In fact, it seems to be raining on Akiha, plastering her white blouse to her torso (sadly she's flat as a board so it's not like it shows anything other than the lines of her camisole) and water drips off her hair. She's also, surprise, glaring at the mirror.]

If anyone needs me, I'll be out about the Gardens today and not at the mansion.


[For anyone looking for Akiha or just crossing paths with her, she's fairy easy to spot with the little black raincloud hanging over her everywhere she goes, constantly showering her with rain.]

I don't care much for flowers. What I really like are the autumn leaves. The bright reds and oranges.

[She runs her hands back to Katina's neck and then down to the top of her chest.]

I created some momiji in the back yard for autumn. So Kris could see the leaves turn the same vermilion as my hair.

You should try to find an autumn-scented soap. Bet they'd try to mix like... pumpkin pie in there or something.

Most leaves don't turn that wonderfully bright.

[Her hands skirt to the outside and down Katina's sides. She's avoiding the sensitive areas! Sort of.]

There's a specific species of momiji - Japanese maple - that does. We have it all over the mansion grounds in Misaki City. I was named after it.

[Yes, that is said with the same inflection she used when she was inverted.]

[ And as imprecise as writing on steamy glass is, it's hard to tell the strokes, when she's not good at kanji anyways. ]

I can remember the meaning, just not how it's written.

My father was terribly clever when he named me. [/sarcasm] I was born on the Fall Equinox.

Oh, wow, I would neeever think of naming someone born on a day like that after Autumn leaves.

[ Yeah she can do sarcasm too. ]

It is. Though I sometimes wonder if my mother had a different name in mind for me.

[Back to soaping up Katina. Her stomach.]

I agree. I just wonder a lot from time to time what my mother would've done or how things would've been different.

Aliens.

[ Said flatly, as she shifts a little beneath Akiha's touch. ]

Aliens eyeing up Earth, and a mad scientist who figured if he started a war, the winners would be battle-hardened enough to fight 'em off.

[Her hands still for a moment before sliding to the lower back.]

So, let me see if I understand this. Because there are aliens around, someone started a war amongst the humans?

Yeah, that's about it. Trying to make us strong or something, after years of peace, despite all the new weapons in development.

[ Katina sighs, hands hanging at her sides. ]

Hell of a reason for us to kill each other.

...my other side agrees with the theory.

[She said that quietly as her hands still again and she leans forward to rest her forehead against the Katina's beck.]

Are the aliens even a threat?

Oh, they sure are, but it doesn't seem like entire civilizations lined up against us - some kind of remote, AI controlled factory, and then some kind of extremists.

[ As confident as she is, if those 'Inspectors' were just a fringe movement, the thought of being invaded by their people in full is terrifying. ]

...it's easier to defeat someone when they're distracted. It sounds to me like the war was instigated to make it easier for the aliens, not harder. But I know nothing of your reality, Katina.

Just a lot about controlling and manipulating things from the shadows.

That'd make sense, but then we know that an ally of his killed off some politicians who were trying to sell us out in exchange for the human race just being enslaved or something instead of wiped out.

An obstacle to the grand plan, nothing more. Don't take anything regarding that scientist at face value.

[Akiha's arms slip around Katina to rest on her stomach. Yeah...naked embrace.]

He's already long gone, and the two alien forces beaten down. Now that there is apparently a giant, intergalactic community that knows about us, though...

[ It's a lot to worry about at a time like this, and leaning back against Akiha is doubly relaxing - naked or not, though feeling skin on skin is nice. ]
