[ The sound that comes through the vine is almost like a little sad wail - it is not human, but it's not eerie. It is an odd noise, yes, but strangely as if it has a soul. The wail dims until there's a little hiccup and a muffled voice comes whining. Oh, yes, the little bird is complaining because, boy, this cold does not sit well with a bird of fire. ]

It's so cold, too cold, I don't like this, no. [ Whine, whine, whine, almost like a petulant little child. ] I want to go hooommeee. But I can't, can't even fly away, no, no.

[ Another tiny wail. ]

Let me goooo.

What kinds of games to people play outside?

As long as I can go outside whenever I want, I ought to learn how to enjoy it properly.

[Flandre wakes up first. She doesn't like change on the best of days, and this is already a plenty complicated enough place for her to have to deal with. Which is why she is in the corner of the unlit room, knees up against her chest, peering out at the other unconscious person.]

[Cold, she can handle. She's pretty cold already, being a vampire and all. But what's this 'roommate' thing supposed to be about?]

[The audio on the Vine is...a little more distorted than usual for this message. But that's definitely the Queen's voice coming out of it. Singing.]

Here we are as in olden days,
Happy golden days
Of yore.
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us
Once more.

Through the years,
We all will be together
If the Fates allow.
Hang a shining star upon
The highest bough,
And have yourself a merry little...

I forget...how does it go?

Oh, it's so dark out. Won't you help me in these dark days, my darlings?

[She sounds distraught. And the snow begins to pile up...]

[ Someone's been hiding, just a little bit. Adapting to the disorientation was easy enough, but adapting to... the swarm of people who were only looking out for her proved to be more difficult. Even with Medusa gone... ]

Ah!

[ The dark one bumped into a vine again it seems, broadcasting her lilac-colored head across the network for all to see. ] Oh no... what's with these things? I don't like them. I don't even know how to turn them off!

[ . . . Well, since she's got it open, she might as well ask. Steel your guts, Crona! At least you're not dealing with people face-to-face! ]

Has... uhm... anyone seen Lady Medusa? Th... thank you in advance...

[The mirror opens to a sunny morning, and a girl sitting on the ground. Her wings would probably be reflecting a rainbow of colors in the sunlight if it weren't for the fact that she's sitting under a good-sized parasol - her one actual wish from the stars. It's pink.]

I don't get it.

[She looks around suspiciously at the trees and flowers and other such foresty things.]

Nobody's attacking me. Nothing's that confusing. Even the sun isn't bad as long as I have a parasol.

Living outside is really easy.

So why did sister say I was only safe inside the mansion?

I think it should be pretty obvious that wishes can't be granted so easily. If you want to solve the incident, just say this:

I wish there were less stars in the sky.

[A shooting star drops a capsule near Flandre. She opens it, revealing it to be empty. Wish granted?]

If you say it a hundred thousand times, the sky should be black as night.

I wish there were less stars in the sky.

I wish there were less stars in the sky...

Let's see.

I wish for a tea set, full-size sign posts, my purple dress, fancy silverware and dining sets that match, and...the black white.

[She doesn't even move as it CRASHes]

[When she opens the capsule she places them all in a gap that she uses as a storage space. However, she holds up the result from the last part of the wish]

A broomstick. You mock me.

Private )

[ PUBLIC - VIDEO ]

Because everyone else seems to be giving introductions, I suppose I should do the same. My name is Medusa and, unlike many here, I'm a simple ordinary woman; I do happen to be a health professional, so if anyone is in need of treatment, I'll be more than glad to offer my services.

...That is, of course, if the local services don't beat me to it. This is quite the interesting place, isn't it? I do have to wonder why we were all brought here. Not only that, but only women. How odd.

Anyway, as I said, my name is Medusa. I do hope we can get along and figure out what is happening together.

[Action]

[Around at night? You might run into this girl walking around on less crowded routes. On the route to and from Lake Sanguine.]

[She's carying what seem to be emptied-out milk cartons filled with blood.]

My room in the mansion was much, much nicer than this one, but I guess I don't mind staying here until my sister comes for me.

My name is Flandre Scarlet. I'm looking forward to exploring a little, as long as I have this chance to try going outside.

[Yukari's image appears on the mirror. She is holding her umbrella in one hand, and a fan in the other. Her intent? Information.]

To those I have not introduced myself to, I am Yukari Yakumo. A pleasure to meet you all...though I must confess it is tempered by our current circumstances.

A few questions, if you will. Who here lives in or knows of a land called Gensokyo?

And if you don't...what do you know about magic?

[Well! This isn't the basement. This isn't her clothes. All her usual toys are gone.]

[At least it's still dark, but this looks ominously like the pictures she's seen of Outside. Didn't Remilia say that this was a dangerous place?]

Hello? Patchy? Sakuya? What's going on?

[Flandre peeks around the edge of a tree, more than a little intimidated by all these new things, and finds her old clothes. She pounces across the intervening space, grabbing the dress and clutching it to her chest, her only anchor of familiarity here. Raising her voice this time.]

SISTER! Why am I outside? I shouldn't be here! I have to get back to the mansion!

Where am I?!

[Looks like she's not out there. Fine. Alone, Flandre can handle. She's getting freaked out by the unfamiliar territory and things everywhere, though. Status quo is very important to someone like her, and it's being broken.]

[She looks scared.]
