I suppose that in general it's not a problem if we duplicate each other's work, since we're coming from different angles.

But it seems like some sort of central repository of what people have tried and what they have learned might be helpful. It might seem like a lot of hassle, but it would in effect save a lot of time for everyone.

And more importantly, since I would imagine that most of us have an overabundance of time, it might save some frustration.

[Ky understands paperwork, and imposing a little organization on this situation seems like it would be helpful.]

As well as we could make it clearer to new people what the full situation is, rather than simply sharing our personal experiences.

Do you have any experience with this sort of stuff? I thought about doing a more thorough investigation, but that's more of what Enforcers are trained to do, so it's not really up my alley...

I've been the Commander of an army, as well a Captain in the International Police Force. It's a different type of setting, but I have an understanding of organization, battle strategy, and paperwork.

...oh! [ Subaru seems surprised, but now things make a little more sense. ] It's always good to meet someone else in some form of armed services. There sure are a lot of us in the Gardens that I've met.

I suppose that if that's the case then we should be better able to organize our way out of here.

I hope so. I know a lot of us have important work to get back to, as well as those who just have their loved ones waiting for them. [ Said quietly, as she dislikes those times when she gives it too much thought. ] The other advantage is that, coming from different backgrounds, it means we all have our own unique experiences and skills to lend to escape efforts.

[Ky nods, although she rubs her forehead.]

Of course we're also not all willing or able to work together.

Ehehe, well... [ She had a point. Subaru rubs her neck a moment. ] I guess there's no forcing it, though I wish it was easier since we're all in the same boat together.

That might be the case, but if everyone could actually take that position then we wouldn't ever have disagreement.

[ Her enthusiasm seems to dim a little. ] Mm, and the Queen probably has the same sort of thoughts.

We don't need everyone, though, just enough people, and that should be doable.

[ She nods. ] If there's anything I can do to help, since I've had some experience working against the magic forces here, I'll be glad to tell you about it!

Anything that you could tell me about working against the magic forces would be appreciated, I think.

Mm, well... I had a run-in with the barrier once, and then trying to mix-and-match the magic here with that from my world. Eheh, it ... didn't really work out either time. [ Subaru looks down, quite embarrassed to admit this, even though it wasn't a secret to anyone by this point. ]

Do you know about the side effects of tampering with things at the far edges of the Gardens?

Only enough in that I know that they exist.

In that case, do you want the long version or the short one?

If it wouldn't be too arduous for you, I would prefer the long version.

[ Subaru takes a deep breath, but shakes her head. ] No, it's no problem.

Let's see... the first thing I tried when I arrived was piercing the barrier that keeps us from going too far into the sky. [ Tilting her head back, she points up, smiling sheepishly. ] It broke, but... only a tiny bit, and then it repaired itself quickly.

For a day after that, I ended up with silver scales instead of skin. It was... kind of uncomfortable, but not harmful in the long run. [ Unless one counts having to cool herself down constantly to keep from overheating because her body was designed to sweat, and the scales made it impossible. ]

Silver...scales? That sounds...

[Ky's eyes widen in a moment of sudden alarm. Had the response been to turn Subaru into some kind of Gear? But she said that they were gone now.]

They just faded after a day?
