[the ocean was in her dreams again, but the waves were rough, wind-tossed, a storm brewing. They dragged at her ankles, pulling her deeper into the freezing water, her body going numb. She couldn't move, her limbs felt like lead, she couldn't breathe--]

[Xion scrambles awake with a gasp, shivering. This is an empty house, sure, but not the one she fell asleep in. The Garden playing tricks again. She rubs her face with the heels of both hands, as if to make sure she's really awake. Tugs her hood securely around her ears, trying to keep the warmth in. The room is silent save for the howl of the wind outside, and her own hasty breathing in her ears. And one other thing...]

[There's someone else here. Wide blue eyes fix on the young woman from under her hood, and she draws her arms up to her chest, realizing with bewilderment that she recognizes this person.]

[it's the girl from the Beast's Castle. Belle. The one she overheard the servants always talking about. But why is she here? The Queen kidnapped her, too? Strange. But Sora--Sora is in the Gardens. It's not so far-fetched.]

[Xion realizes she's staring and takes another look around the room instead, letting their surroundings sink in. Just what was going on?]

[There are noises--shuffling mainly. The video feed takes a while to pop up, but when it does, it reveals a girl with bright pink hair and blue eyes. It looks as if she is still wearing the white shift, but she has, at the least, put her uniform jacket on over it. She looks startled at the appearance of the mirror, and stumbles backward a bit.]

O-oi! Geez...this is really weird. Weirder than usual. I guess that stuff in the scroll was right... [she briefly looks annoyed, and mutters to herself:] Is this another trick?

[Her expression sobers.] I still don't get what's going on but...my name is Utena Tenjou. I'm sure this place is nice, but I have to get back to Ohtori, right away! Himemiya, she--

[She trails off, and looks troubled:] I need to get home.

[ Belle spends a lot of time wandering these days, just thinking. Wondering if she'll ever see the Beast again, wondering if whatever this is endangers the worlds (surely it must be), wondering if Sora will show up and rescue them all like before.

Today her wandering takes her past the arcade, a place she doesn't find particularly captivating. Electronics are new and interesting, sure, but she saw plenty of new and interesting machinery the last time she was kidnapped, and much as she finds them interesting, and much as she knows her father would be delighted by the chance to tinker with them, she's simply bored. There's no story behind these little games, from what she could figure out, at least.

But today... Today there's something new. A new building with a design that catches her eye, and a sign that draws her in immediately. Of anything showing up mysteriously in this place, Belle thinks that this is her favorite. She has a feeling she'll be spending a lot of her days here. Time to explore! ]

Oh, great. Just what I need. Another sleepwalking nightmare. The last time I dreamed about sunshine-and-roses, I nearly fell into the North Sea. But since I'm too close to finding out who I am to take any more creative detours, I'm going to have to postpone this little nightmare for a more convenient time, like, oh, say, never.

[ pause ]

Dimitri, Vladimir, if either of you can hear me, a pinch or cold water or something would be really nice right about now.

[ But when neither of her travel companions respond, she reluctantly flips open the invitation and skims it, still in a state of disbelief. Once she's finished, she anxiously rubs her forehead as she tries to take in what she's just read. ]

All of my needs will be met, huh? Well, I'd say I'm in need of a wake-up call.

[When she wakes up in a completely alien location, staring at a blinding sky, she is alarmed. Paranoid, forming theories (Reality Marble?), trying to sense where her Master is, but generally more inquisitive than openly hostile.

That's until a shuriken passes on its way down, about a foot to her left. Something invisible deflects it almost automatically off into the nearest solid object that will stop it, and the girl is in an armored dress now, glaring defensively at her surroundings.]

Who's there? Come out!

[Mireille is seated outside of the necessities on the grass, looking up at the bright night sky, an amused little smile on her face. She's done some scrouging and come up with a dark blue skirt with lilies on it that she deemed acceptable, and a simple light blue blouse. Her purse is resting on her lap.]

Wishes. Although I imagine we can't wish to leave, that would be far too easy, wouldn't it?

[She looks down at the vine image.]

I suppose I'd be happy with rooms that didn't randomly change, at least. So, taking 'going home' off the table...what is everyone going to wish for?

My, there are so many interesting places to see here... has anyone found a library by chance?

[ video ; Giselle is slightly back from the mirror and looks startled, as if she was taken by surprise and jumped back. She recovers quickly and approaches the mirror again. ]

Another one? My, this is curious! Your highness, are you still there? [ evidently, she is unaware that this is being broadcast to more than just the Queen. ] This is a lovely garden, and I would be so pleased to view it sometime soon, but you see I was out collecting wildflowers and I only meant to be a few hours -- perhaps I fell asleep and, er, sleepwalked, I have heard cases of such things -- but it's after dark now and Pip and the animals will be so worried, I really must get home to assure them I haven't fallen into some evil ogre's lair and require a daring rescue mission to be mounted in my name...

Hello? Oh dear, is anyone there?

[Wherever you are, so long as you're here already, a vine unfurls, and unfurls, and unfurls until it's holding a lifesize mirror. For a moment there's only darkness in it, and then someone steps out of the shadows and into view: a woman.]

You're here already! Isn't it wonderful? I hope it's wonderful. You see, I've been working so hard to make things right; there's still work to be done, of course, but I think it's good enough for now, don't you? I'm so happy to see you! All of you. It's been a long time...

Oh, oh, did I forget to introduce myself? I was so excited.

I'm...

[Her gaze goes distant, her expression misty and faraway.]

I am the Queen of Hearts.

You're going to love it here!

[Without further ado, the mirror curls back up.]
