[There's singing audible as the mirror becomes active, although it only shows leaves for a moment as the vine seems to hide behind a tree branch. It moves out into the open slowly, showing Mahalia stood in a small clearing.

She's the one singing, although there's no human words to the song, only sounds. A birdsong, something that might seem quite strange coming from a young girl's throat. The meaning is still clear in the notes and the tone - something of a lullaby, a song meant to sooth and comfort, and it will invoke those feelings a little in anyone listening. Remind them of warm, safe places, home.

It's a familiar song to her, and she's singing it to try and comfort herself, but it isn't really working. She's already crying, and has to stop singing every now and then as her tears disrupt her voice, but always continues again after a moment, determined to finish.]

[ The song is calming, relaxing, and something in it brings back Caprica's memories of being with her sister Sixes — with all her sibling Cylons — before there was war and death and pain. For a moment something in her aches a little, and then it's like there's something tense in her that breaks and she relaxes again. Now more than anything she's curious about this girl, but she doesn't dare interrupt her singing — doesn't want to — so she waits until she's done before speaking up, her tone soft out of respect for the singer and because she can sense she's upset. ]

That's beautiful. How did you learn it?

[as if summoned by the music, Mugi flicks on the video and listens, entranced. She has a serene smile on her face as she listens]

[Grell finds the song beautiful, and it reminds her of faint images. Fire, the sun, laughter, someone's embrace at the end of a day. So distant, so unattainable for so long, and for some reason she longs for it more than she ever has. When it ends, then she speaks.]

Do you wish company?
