She's the one singing, although there's no human words to the song, only sounds. A birdsong, something that might seem quite strange coming from a young girl's throat. The meaning is still clear in the notes and the tone - something of a lullaby, a song meant to sooth and comfort, and it will invoke those feelings a little in anyone listening. Remind them of warm, safe places, home.

It's a familiar song to her, and she's singing it to try and comfort herself, but it isn't really working. She's already crying, and has to stop singing every now and then as her tears disrupt her voice, but always continues again after a moment, determined to finish.]

[Grell finds the song beautiful, and it reminds her of faint images. Fire, the sun, laughter, someone's embrace at the end of a day. So distant, so unattainable for so long, and for some reason she longs for it more than she ever has. When it ends, then she speaks.]

Cages can be places of safety, of luxury. Freedom from knowledge or responsibility for the things going on outside of it. But I don't think any creature is meant to be caged. Not against their will, anyway.
