001 | Yes, It's the End of the World As We Know It | Audio/Visual

[A young woman's voice echoes over the Vine first. IN fact, it sounds almost exactly like that of someone else the residents have heard from recently. A shrill note of panic has managed to worm its way into her voice, though.]

What is this place? Where-? How-?

[After a moment the mirror comes on. It's Asuka! Or her doppelganger. The only real difference is that she has a swathe of bandages covering her right arm and another tied tightly around her head, covering her left eye. The one that is visible is bright, blue, alert and almost panicked. Her uncovered hand reaches out toward the mirror.]

This isn't right! I was just-

I was-

[Her eye widens slightly.]

Oh my God. I-

[She chokes, retches and she sinks out of sight for a moment, hand covering her mouth. The rather unpleasant sound of someone losing their lunch is all that can be heard for a few moments, gasps for air and then more retching.]

I feel sick.

[Sighs out. Looks like she's doing some stranger a favor - at least it'll be quick?]

I guess I can share some of my food... smoke would probably fix you up quicker, though...

Where are you? Roughly.

[identity profile] thetrueblow.livejournal.com 2010-12-28 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
Right. Give me about... fifteen minutes.

[13 minutes later, an entirely too-tall woman comes walking along, clutching a bag of various goodies. No sweets and no meat yet, though - pretty sure she couldn't keep that down. She spots the girl, and then moves over firmly in that direction.]

You the girl that was throwing up?

Nobody needs help throwing up. That's easy.

[Squats down, and opens up the bag. Putting out things she raided from the necessities.]

Water, thermos of coffee, bread - you definitely want the bread - vegetables, fruit... help yourself, basically.

[identity profile] thetrueblow.livejournal.com 2010-12-28 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
No worries.

Hey, could you hold still for a moment?

[identity profile] thetrueblow.livejournal.com 2010-12-28 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
[Noi seizes the moment, leans forward, purses her lips - and spits out a cloud of black smoke, straight at the redheaded teenager, letting it slip into her nose and mouth.]

[Naturally, she's going to panic about it, but once she gets the time to calm down, she'll have found that her stomach - and the rest of her body - has righted itself and stopped telling the brain to keep hocking out anything she may have eaten in the last week.]

[identity profile] thetrueblow.livejournal.com 2010-12-28 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
[Calmly, Noi pushes over the bread. And the vegetables.]

I figured it would make things quicker, like I said earlier.

You still want to throw up?

[identity profile] thetrueblow.livejournal.com 2010-12-28 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
It's my magic.

[Smiles like there's nothing insane about that sentence at all.]

So did you just die or something? You wouldn't be the first, here...

[identity profile] thetrueblow.livejournal.com 2010-12-28 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
- No such thing? Which means it's another one of those different planet deals again...

[It's a pretty big lie - either that, or something worse than death happened to the girl. Either way, Noi decides not to press it. She doesn't want to deal with the girl throwing up all over her, or throwing a fit.]

Okay.

So what's your name?

[identity profile] thetrueblow.livejournal.com 2010-12-28 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
I'm Noi.

Guess the Queen really likes bringing in teenagers, though - I don't think I've met anyone over thirty...

Not as weird as the fact that there's no men.

[Helps herself to the coffee. One big, long slurp.]
