[A young woman's voice echoes over the Vine first. IN fact, it sounds almost exactly like that of someone else the residents have heard from recently. A shrill note of panic has managed to worm its way into her voice, though.]

What is this place? Where-? How-?

[After a moment the mirror comes on. It's Asuka! Or her doppelganger. The only real difference is that she has a swathe of bandages covering her right arm and another tied tightly around her head, covering her left eye. The one that is visible is bright, blue, alert and almost panicked. Her uncovered hand reaches out toward the mirror.]

This isn't right! I was just-

I was-

[Her eye widens slightly.]

Oh my God. I-

[She chokes, retches and she sinks out of sight for a moment, hand covering her mouth. The rather unpleasant sound of someone losing their lunch is all that can be heard for a few moments, gasps for air and then more retching.]

I feel sick.

[Estelle flushes, abruptly looking angry and a little bewildered by it.]

I am not part of any hallucination! That can't be it...!

Prove it.

[She darts out of frame for a moment.]

Cat, would you show me to Asuka's current location, please?

[A pause.]

It's just standing there looking at me...

Asuka Langley Soryu!

Try that.

_{[Not that she expects any of this to work.]}

Cat, please take me to Asuka Langley Soryu! ...Oh!

[And then she's offscreen again, running after the cat.]

_{[And Asuka will wait. She does manage to find her plugsuit in the interim, though. Still, she'll stay in the shift for now.]}

[And Estelle bursts out of a path into the clearing, slightly out of breath but looking very determined.]

There you are! Pow Hamme--

[But she stops and instead murmurs to herself.]

N-no, that's too mean, even if you did call me a hallucination...you might still be sick. So, I'll help.

[She makes her way to Asuka's side, and--

--a glyph of light radiates out around Asuka, and she'll be filled with a feeling of wellness. It won't last, though. Her wounds, after all, are not physical, and what she has runs deeper than any status ailment.]

_{[Asuka jumps, eye wide as the light suddenly bathes her and her breath hitches. She flinches back; only after the feeling of welness starts to spread does she relax. It reminds her a bit too much of another light and another, rather more horrific experience.]}

A bit of warning would have been nice!

[Estelle, of course, has no way of knowing about experiences like that. At least, not yet.]

Oh...sorry! I just thought--since you said you felt sick--

Well...first I thought about summoning a giant hammer to hit you, actually. It wasn't nice of you to call me a hallucination...

How the Hell am I supposed to tell the difference?

_{[She glares at Estelle - but she does feel better for a little bit, plus she's a bit too beat up to smack anyone.]}

W-well...

[In person, Asuka's attitude is even more intimidating. But Estelle took worse from Rita, and they're friends now, right? So she plucks up a smile.]

The giant hammer would have hurt more. You're already hurt, aren't you? I'm so glad I didn't hit you with it.

Oh, no! I'm just wearing these for fun!

_{[She lifts her bandaged arm with a glare.]}

Really? Is it a new style in your world?

[She's still a little shaky with sarcasm...]

...what are you, stupid?

_{[[OOC: Off to the movies - be back later.]]}

O-oh, you didn't mean...
