[From the looks of things, Nue isn't dressed in her usual dark colors today. Instead, she's wearing the red and white uniform of a Hakurei shrine maiden, meaning she must have finally taken Reimu up on the punishment she had ordered a while back. The fact that the image's backdrop is the Hakurei shrine and she has a broom in hand makes this pretty obvious, too.]

[That isn't what she wants to talk about, though. She just got bored with sweeping, and there's been something else on her mind, too.]

So... Do you think that Pirate Queen is actually going to keep her word? [Her wings flick back and forth like tails behind her, the movement seeming somehow irritable. Apparently, she's incensed just thinking about it.] It's not like I gave her something I can't just make more of, but still. I'm going to be mad if she doesn't come back like she said she would.

[The truth is, Nue is just impatient. It's been a week and a half, maybe, and she's already getting antsy. But she asked for something she hopes will cheer Sanae up, so she's anxious to get her hands on it now.]

[Alternately, you could come see her sweeping at the shrine in person. Or you could catch her around the fortress later in the day; she still isn't living at the shrine 24/7 now, so she has to go back there if she wants to change out of those stupid miko robes after she's done with her stupid chores.]

[The sound of Nue's sweeping slows to a halt, and she glances back over her shoulder at Reimu. She looks a little incredulous.]

I don't need you to watch over me, and I don't think Sanae does, either.

[Reimu keeps her back turned and continues to sweep.]

Well, as the main shrine maiden of Gensokyo, I need to make sure you guys are safe, and also not causing problems. Having you at the shrine, or close to it, makes that job easier.

[Reimu sighed, turned, and walked towards Nue. Meanwhile, a little plant started to grow on the shrine above them.]

[Reimu fails to notice it as well as she stops and puts her hands on her hips.]

And how do you think you earn my trust Nue? You need to prove that I can trust you. Sanae trusts you, and that is a start, but I need more.

I don't know, why don't you tell me? [huff] I spent a year here without doing anything bad. And I went a year before that without doing anything to bother you, too. [Calling Mamizou didn't count, because as far as she's concerned, that's none of Reimu's business.] So if two years of not doing anything wrong isn't enough to prove anything to you...

[She grits her teeth, and then...tosses her broom down on the ground.]

You're not going to respect or trust me anyway, so forget your stupid punishment! You can just take care of the shrine yourself—I'm going home!

[She whirls on her heel and stomps away. Or, at least, she tries to, because she doesn't get very far before stubbing her toe on the mistletoe's barrier.]

[Reimu frowned and crossed her arms.] You want to know what I need?! Fine I'll... ah crap.

[Her eyes dart up as soon as she see's Nue hit her toe on the invisible shield. She groans as she spots the plant above their heads.]

I'm not going to "kiss and make up" with you now, if that's what I'm being told to do.

I should hope not. But since when has this place cared about what we want?

[Even so, she stays firmly on the other side of their space bubble, her arms folded over her chest as she glares.]

[Reimu imitates Nues look. She already had to kiss Fionna, and now she needs to kiss Nue? What a annoying week]

Look, you want to know how I can trust you? How about you make it so the villagers stop not trusting me every time a Youkai comes to visit. Yes, you may not be trying to start anything, but when they see the person they want to exterminate the troublesome youkai hanging out with the likes of Yukari and Remilia, they lose their trust in me.

If they lose their trust in me then they won't care about the hakurei shrine. and if they don't care I will be a lousy shrine maiden. And How can I face my mother when I die if I am a failed shrine maiden!?

How is any of that my problem? If you think it's such an issue, stop hanging out with them or convince the villagers yourself. That seems a lot more likely to solve the problem than asking someone you don't even like to stick their neck out for you.

The villagers are stuck in their way of thinking. They have been hurt by youkai alot, and while there are ones that don't want to eat them, plenty still do. Changing their way of thinking is quite hard. They got worried because 3 youkai leaders where meeting in the village!

I don't want to stop hanging out with frien-!!

[Reimu quickly shuts her mouth and turns around, face red.]

You know anesan has her temple in the village, right? Plenty of humans visit there along with us youkai. I'd say that means I'm doing enough as it is.

[No she isn't, but she doesn't see how she's supposed to do as Reimu asks, either. She doesn't want to waste her time doing something pointless and aggravating just to prove herself.]

If they're so stuck in their ways, what makes you think they'll listen to me, anyway? I am a youkai.

Humans visit, but they are still suspicious.

I don't think they would listen to just you. it would take more then just you. If you do what some other youkai do, like the rabbit and the teacher.

However, if you just want me to trust you... I need to feel that you will never cause an incident again.

The temple might be trying to make Youkai look better and be better around humans, but I know the temple can't do that for every youkai, and many try to take advantage of it. I have a bunch of newspaper articals on the subject.

Also, I am worried about the stability of Gensokyo sinc4e the Taoist showed up. They are making the situation of youkai and humans worse. I know you appose them, but the humans are getting scared of both sides.

I can understand and respect that. I just... I don't know....

The Tanooki just tried to pretend to be Marisa once. It was quite annoying.
