[Well, this is... weird. Having a head that isn't squishy and skull-shaped and covered in hair is bad enough, but the light source inside feels strangely warm. Possibly the heat from the pumpkin hot chocolate is sticking around, which is at least convenient with the cooling weather. Still, annoying.

[But Jessica isn't one to let the Gardens' embarrassing cosmetic bullshit get in her way, so she's resolutely keeping to her routine. It has to wear off eventually, right?

[(Definitely lodging a complaint with the management of the cafe, though.)]

They are constructs without souls. Why do they need encouragement?

How do you know they have no soul? That's not exactly a provable thing.

Besides, they're helpful and intelligent, so even if they don't have souls, they have consciousness and the ability to communicate. That's enough for me.

As I mentioned before, I can see ghosts, and I have some dominion over souls as well.

I suppose it's possible they might have something. There is much to be said for intelligence, as so many lack it. All the same, I'm not interested in their novel concoctions.

Oh, you needn't worry, it was one particular world I was meant to annihilate, and not this one. But yes, as you say, I did "quit".

I have no desire to destroy this little world, though the Queen is no friend of mine.

Probably. Well, assuming she's the one in charge. It'll get rebuilt, I'm sure. I'd still appreciate it if you didn't destroy everything; it might reveal something, but there's enough people that actually like it here that I wouldn't want to mess things up for them.

Good thing you got out of that, then. Well, I assume. I'm given to understand that losing one's soul isn't a good thing.
