[Samus is going to try a little experiment today, which would explain why she's currently wearing her armor. The idea is simple enough, and she begins executing it.

Having picked a less populated area of the Gardens, Samus starts to run straight forward. A few seconds later, she ends up moving faster and faster until the Speed Booster activates.

Once it does, she comes to a full stop almost instantly before performing a vertical shinespark. Launching herself high into the air, she continues traveling upwards until hitting the invisible barrier. Despite the high altitude and resulting free fall, she safely lands back on the ground.

She then looks upward at the sky.]

Not even a dent...

[ooc: the vine probably caught her during mid-boost, just not for very long. samus can run at supersonic speeds with the speed booster.]

[ See, Samus, that's just a can of worms. Because Subaru will ask all kinds of questions, from how the thrusters operate, to the power pack, to its weight and the types of materials used. It's quite obvious that her expectations are that these will somehow compare with her own technical vocabulary, momentarily forgetting that things will not be the same from other worlds. ]

[And she answers as best as she can. Fortunately, Samus has enough patience and thinks well enough of Subaru to field all those questions. At least, for now.]

Whoa, that all sounds pretty cool! I wish Shari and Mary were here, because they'd know a lot more about how to compare our technology with that. [ She puts a hand to her chest. ] I only know enough to help Mach Caliber run diagnostics and start self-repairs, as well as perform maintenance on the rest of the equipment she stores for me. Eheh, my skill in mechanics is pretty limited when I put it like that...

Hmm, well since it isn't powered by mana like my equipment, I kind of wonder what kind of comparisons can be made...

Mm! I think you're right about that. Let me get my Revolver Knuckle out and maybe we can take a look at the systems together? [ And maybe see how her spells fare against Samus' weapons. This might have a long-term use, after all... ]
