[Samus is going to try a little experiment today, which would explain why she's currently wearing her armor. The idea is simple enough, and she begins executing it.

Having picked a less populated area of the Gardens, Samus starts to run straight forward. A few seconds later, she ends up moving faster and faster until the Speed Booster activates.

Once it does, she comes to a full stop almost instantly before performing a vertical shinespark. Launching herself high into the air, she continues traveling upwards until hitting the invisible barrier. Despite the high altitude and resulting free fall, she safely lands back on the ground.

She then looks upward at the sky.]

Not even a dent...

[ooc: the vine probably caught her during mid-boost, just not for very long. samus can run at supersonic speeds with the speed booster.]

[ A short bit after Samus' landing, Subaru is there, laughing nervously. ] I don't think that's such a good idea...

Well, I guess I can't blame you for that... [ Subaru clenches her right fist and then relaxes it. ] I had to try to get out, myself, but even though I managed to make a hole I paid for the attempt. Vivio...... did, too, when she blasted it on accident.

To be fair, it's really tough. [ Subaru smiled sheepishly. ] Though I wanted to ask... you moved pretty fast! How did you do that?

It's called the Speed Booster, an upgrade for my suit.

[she turns around, so Subaru can get a look at the rear boosters of said suit.]

All I need is a straight path long enough to activate and use it.

[ Subaru leans in to get a better look. ] Thrusters of some kind? I think I get it. Eheh, that must be why it looked like flying to me. [ Albeit very shiny flight. ]

That's a technique I added myself.

A name like "Speed Booster" should be pretty self-explanatory.

What you saw after is a "Shinespark", and it lets me use that force and momentum and propel myself in various directions.

Results would've been more impressive. Instead, it turned out to be a waste of time.

It was made for me several years ago.

This one is different. Older, but more effective.

It's really fascinating. Do you know any of the, uh, details of how it works? What's the power source?

Energy tanks. The suit is disabled when they're all depleted.

Any idea what kind of energy? Doesn't seem like the sort of thing your usual battery would run.

Well, MY usual battery. I guess this could be totally normal for you.

It must have taken a lot of practice! And... did you feel the impact when you hit the ceiling? [ Subaru sure remembers having a heck of a time punching through, but she also had magic on her side. ]

What's the make on that power suit, if you don't mind my asking? Definitely not Nightmare tech.

Somewhat, but it wasn't much different than previous times.
