--kidding? It's been a year and that woman--

[There's a seething hiss then, the Vine opening the mirror after the sun has set, and the profile of a familiar young woman with long dark hair can been seen in the shadows, the moonlight reflecting off of the white shift she's wearing.

Akiha tilts her head back, turning it up toward the sky, and closes her eyes. She counts to ten, calming her temper. Reaching up to tuck some hair behind her ear, a gold bangle on her wrist, she lets out a slow breath before looking around for her clothes. A cat skitters away as Akiha turns from the mirror muttering.]

Bring me back-- Don't even know if that idiot and brute are still here-- Ridiculous.

If the mansion isn't still here, I'm going to...

[Her voice trails off as she finds her clothes and walks out of view of the Vine, not even realizing it had been on. The Vine and Akiha still don't get along.]


[Eventually, Akiha finds the mansion, glad to see it's intact. She heads inside and immediately goes upstairs to her bedroom. Better catch her before the door is closed or she won't be seen until morning.]

Akiha? [ No, of course it is. Who else would it be? Things have been quiet since the party — too quiet, almost — and then there was Kris' broadcast which set Subaru to patrolling the outer edges as close to the Wild Places as she could manage.

But here she is over the Vine, now, and Subaru looks rather relieved. ] Akiha!

[A rustle of the bushes visible on the Vine and Akiha's head pops back into view as she's buttoning the last bit of her blouse up.]

...Subaru?

[Yeah, she's thinking Subaru is nearby and not on the Vine.]

[And guess who is sleeping in Akiha's bed. Kris is wrapped up in Akiha's blankets and has generally made a mess of her bed but the rest of the room is untouched.]

Yep! [ Waving to the mirror. ] Over here!

[Akiha had been expecting Kris to pounce her the moment she found out the magician was still on the island. It had been weird for her not to, and she'd been a little worried what the woman had gotten herself into while Akiha was gone.

...but she'd deal with it in the morning.

So, in her room, she changed into just a tank top and her panties as it was too hot for her normal bedclothes. She then glanced over as she went to take the etherlite bracelet off to find her bed a mess.]

Tch.

[And Kris inside it. Walking over, Akiha sat down on the bed next to the sleeping woman. Her hand brushed blonde hair back from Kris' face.]

...whatever am I going to do with you?

[A quick look around and her eyes eventually found the mirror.]

...I take it this thing still hates me.

"Still"? You haven't been missing that long. [ Thankfully. ]

[Up pops an eyebrow.]

Um, no? [ That's kind of a weird thing to say, Akiha. ] Are you feeling okay?

Yes. I am more than capable of following a calendar considering I have a daily planner, many meetings. It is the end of August, isn't it?

Kris wouldn't believe us when we said you were gone...

No, it's.... July. Late on the 4th? [ Based on calculations on holidays and such that have lapsed while here. She has no idea of the significance of the date. ]

See? It hasn't been a year at all. I've still only had the one party!

[Now clothed, Akiha glances at the mirror. It seems to take her a moment to place Fionna.]

...still wearing that hat. Tch.

Is that idiot magician of mine still here? It's been a while.

[Akiha's brow furrows and she takes that in. She knows it was August. It's been a year... why--]

Ah. Time displacement. Gal mentioned it before. Regardless, Subaru, it has been a year for me.

[fionna_time]

[pouts] My hat is awesome.

Yeah, Kris has been looking for ya the past few days! I helped her sine she wouldn't believe you went back and junk.

[That was Akiha's voice. Even though she's sleeping, even lightly, a smile crosses her face and she mumbles a bit. Instant good dreams.

She ended up reaching up to brush away whatever was fiddling with her hair and made contact with Akiha's hand, which caused her eyes to open and peer up at Akiha.]

You went... back? [ A blink. ] I guess you're the first I talked to that remembers it. [ Which is disconcerting. ] Did you... remember us? When you went back, I mean.

[ritsu_kouyou]

[Akiha's pinky hooked on Kris' hand.]

You're sleeping in my bed.

[ported]

[She doesn't let go of Akiha but she does wrap the blankets around her tighter.]

You weren't here....

[ritsu_kouyou]

[It's silly. Grow up, Fionna.]

How unsurprising. How long did she search? I hope she hasn't spent the entire year searching for me.

[It's awesome and the only thing her real parents might have left her. End of story].

Nah, its only been a few days since you left, Akiha. but she was looking after you didn't come back to the mansion.

[Akiha thinks on that for the moment, idly playing with the gold bangle on her wrist.]

...to be honest, I don't recall thinking of any of you. Or this place.

It took me a bit to figure out why it felt familiar when the cat came to me with a scroll.

[ Subaru furrows her brow. ] Do you think you went back to the last thing you remembered before the first time you woke up here?

[ A pause, and then she explains herself. ] I heard that time stops, back home. Or something like that, anyway. That's why I wanted to know.

[ritsu_kouyou]

No... I wasn't.

[She leaned down to press her lips to Kris' forehead.]

I'm sorry. I was needed elsewhere.

I've been in Misaki City for a year. I don't understand how the time displacement works.
