Agrias sits by the vine, sighing, face resting on a gloved hand and tapping the other on her knee, eyes narrowed a bit. When she speaks, she sounds pretty annoyed.]

I have but a simple inquiry for the denizens of the gardens. Does it usually take this long for an enemy to make themselves known to us? It has been a while since this Pirate Queen or whatnot made her threat known, and yet there has been hardly a sign of her.

[She bites on her thumb a bit and snorts, letting out some frustration and stress.]

I have never...dealt with one so polite or formal in their threats that used it not to mask their condescension. This is new to me and I must admit I am unsure how I am supposed to approach this. Even with my sense of chivalry about me, you rarely see such manners transferred to the battlefield.

[This is so embarrassing you guys. A knight, antsy to do justice, and almost feeling sympathy for who she'd slay. She doesn't remember the last knave she fought that was worth such praise.]

I thought dashing, mannerly rogues only existed in children's stories and uncouth romance novels for bored noblewomen.

Look around you. We're in a magical garden. There are fairies, there's magical soil, there are animals that understand you when you talk to them and then bring you food or lead you places.

And we're all expected to fall in love and prosper.

[ She shakes her head and sighs. ]

We're already in something halfway between a children's story and an uncouth romance novel.

The stress worry brings can often do more damage than the trouble itself. Best end this as soon as we can.

I suppose... She has already made a fool of me by proxy. I think I should like to meet with this "queen" and give her a piece of my mind.

To be honest, we've never really gotten a warning before this, as far as I know. Well, there was that time with the monsters, but...

Either way, I'm not sure this pirate is an enemy. Not that we should let our guard down.

Usually rogues sending vulgar notes lead only to trouble, if even just a small skirmish or scuffle. They like to bask in the attention, and will make themselves seen when they have had enough of watching us flail waiting around.

Maybe not an enemy, but a troublemaker all the same.

You've got a good point, there. Maybe she wants a fuss. Well, I'll tell everyone I know to stay alert.

Given this place's very nature, it's hard to say what will happen next. All we can really do is stay vigilant, even if it's not the preferred course of action.

Good to hear that others are just as stalwart in their efforts to ensure this place stays safe. We can only pray that their skills in combat are as refined as their manners.

I can only speak for myself, but I can assure you that they are.

Bored noblewomen aren't the only ones who read those.

You are correct; ladies without a sense of shame from all walks of life can be caught reading such, but they have no business in the hands of a holy woman.
