Rising Sun [text/action]
[Her last memory is heat and rust and darkness. Now there is light and life and comfort- at least, more comfort than she's felt in seven years. (Or less comfort for part of her that has lived a life free of constant pain.) She sits up with difficulty, blinking in the bright. The air is clean, carrying a fresh smell she'd forgotten after half a life in a basement room. The world is green and dazzling and living. Birds twitter, leaves rustle, a breeze rolls past her ears; no beeps or rumbles or electric hums.
[Dread creeps up her insides.
[A cat meows. She peers at it in surprise, then notices the scroll. A few moments' fumbling with bandaged fingers and it's open. She reads, silently, then turns her attention to the Vine, which unfurls its parchment and stylus helpfully, apparently aware that speaking isn't high on her list of strengths. She reaches for the stylus automatically, before realising that her fingers are too restrained to operate it. But there's another way.
[The Vine offers a new text to the residents. Unusually, the words aren't hand written, but singed into the parchment.]
Is this Paradise?

White dress and bandages.
[That's about all she's sure of now. She's not even sure how old she is at the moment.]

"Are you ok man? You look like you had a fight."

[Body: Still extremely painful, still not entirely functional. But better than it was.]
i didn't mean to.
[Her voice is a ghost in an abandoned house.]

It's just me, Fionna. We talked on the vines earlier, remember? I was s'posed to find you.
no subject
where...?
[You'll have to excuse her, Fi, she hasn't had much human contact for a while.]
no subject
[Whoa, did she forget already?]
no subject
like through the looking glass?
no subject
Yeah, you could say that. But there's kinda a lot more to it in a place like this.

[It's also much easier for her to trust going to a tree fort than to a doctor. Even if one is probably more likely to be helpful in this situation.]
no subject
All right dude, let's go find it! It's not too far, and if ya want you can lie down!
no subject
no subject
Um, I could carry ya if you want.
no subject
[Looking closely, Fionna can probably notice that the bulges under her skirt are... kind of unhealthily thin. This is not someone who's been out adventuring recently.]
wheelchair...
no subject
There's kinda not one around. It's why I could carry you. I can make one for you though, so you can move around later! Would that be ok?"

no subject
Hang on, its not too far away!

[this is the most amazing thing she's seen that doesn't involve horrific gods! Yeah, she's visibly impressed.]
no subject
[and please don't mind all the treasure. It's just decoration!]
no subject
do you sell them?
no subject
no subject
Mama sold them... [she murmurs in explanation.]
