There is no ceiling like there is underground, if that's what you mean.

Yes. I know that it happens to be very far away too. Far enough that it would likely take a year of endless flying to reach it.

So, I understand that the sun moves and, when it's night, the moon comes up to replace it. The moon always looks different because the light shines on it a different way, the rest is just too dark. I already know all about that. So! Isn't the moon just a cold sun?

In the sense that it hangs up in the sky. Really, the moon doesn't do anything the sun does. There are some kinds of youkai that gather power from it, such as vampires, but in general it's not the same.

And it has it's own civilization on it, considering there are a small number of Lunarians in Gensokyo.
