No, no, a story in reference to a building means a floor. The mansion is currently two stories tall because it has two floors. So however many floors your house has is how many stories tall it is.

[She then grabs her mug, finding it empty, and sighs again.]

It has a bunch, I suppose. I only stay up on the top level. The other ones are used for other things.

[Kris sort of gets it and leans against Akiha.]

[Surprisingly, Akiha doesn't seem to mind.]

Unless you can defy the Queen's power with your own, I'm fairly sure that's not possible. Besides... you're supposed to be showing me how to use the staff.

[But Kris can't make Akiha forget. She can't make the ache in Akiha's heart go away. Still, Akiha sits up enough to comply, letting Kris have her hands.]

[Kris reaches around Akiha and takes her hands as if she were going to guide them.]

[Akiha wasn't too sure about this method, but she does want to learn. So she grabs the staff and at least shifts how she's sitting enough to make this a bit easier for Kris if she was insisting on this technique.

[She opens her eyes and tilts her head back to look at Kris.]

[Have such a hard time. She has a lot of willpower, but it's kind of dedicated to keeping herself under control.]

Hmm. Maybe if I... let go a little. [And Kris gets to watch the crimson spread through Akiha's hair this time as it changes.]

[She never really got a GOOD look, okay.]

[A tinge of color touches Akiha's cheeks as she reaches back to free her hair from where it was trapped between them.]

[She then clears her throat and focuses on the staff.]

[For a moment it seems like anything was going to happen. Akiha was getting tenser by the second. And then she closed her eyes and leaned a bit back against Kris.

A couple seconds later and she finally got the damn thing to work.]

[Akiha smiles a little before frowning.]
