I suppose that means gift giving and all of that. Thankfully, I knew about my own holiday ahead of time so I prepared plenty of gifts to give. It's not that hard to make what you need here for that kind of thing, is it?

How should I give these out? You can come pick them up, if you want!

[Akiha threw the blanket back and stalked across the room to her window where she crossed her arms and stared at the snow outside. And shivered.]

[Kris hopped up and headed over to Akiha. She was going to get cold like that!]

Is something wrong?

[SHE DIDN'T CARE.]

Yes. Your inability to be observant. Or maybe it's how you don't even realize the things that come out of your mouth. Maybe you never learned the concept behind varying relationships.

[Explosion imminent. Take cover!]

That you confuse the hell out of me because I can't ever tell what's real interest or what's that natural simplicity you're both blessed and cursed with? That I don't actually keep you around just for your blood? That it both infuriates me and impresses me that you've managed to get as close to me as you have despite my attempts to push you away? That sometimes I just want to curl up with you and pretend you're someone else at the same time not wanting to pretend? That I don't know how to deal with these feelings without getting violent?!

[She decides to grace that response with a hug.]

[Akiha tries to shove Kris back, get out of the hug, but there isn't much energy in the attempt.]

Why do you do this to me?

[She's not talking about the hug either.]

You do it to yourself, I think. Don't worry so much.

How can I not? I don't understand. I don't know what to do.

[She tilts her head down so her hair hides her face.]

I hate this.

[Kris rubs her back.]

That's not a solution.

[But Akiha's hands come up to grasp Kris' shirt as she rests her forehead on Kris' shoulder. She's not going to cry. Frustration is a stupid thing to cry over. She's NOT going to cry.]

I don't know. Maybe there isn't one.

If I stayed with you, would you mind?

[She's silent for a long moment before her hands tighten a bit.]

[She sounds like she has more to say but she does stop herself, for once.]

[Akiha draws in a shuddering breath and after a few moments, her grip loosens and her hands lay flat on Kris' shoulders as she slowly starts to relax.]

...I'm cold.

[She sighs and tries to slip from Kris' arms to head back to the fireplace. At least she managed to not cry.]

Let's both hold onto that staff I gave you and we can use it.

[Akiha grabs the staff as she sits down, letting her hair turn crimson so she could use it.]

I thought your magic kept you from getting cold?

That's why I'm going to stay here and help you, since it's not a worry for me.

Are you going to sit down or stay standing over there?

[She silently comes over and grabs a seat.]

[As Kris sits, Akiha pulls the blanket up about herself despite planning to use the staff. She then leans over against Kris and shoots her a brief look as if daring her to comment on it.]

[Whoa, whoa. Kris pulls up the blanket and squishes herself alongside Akiha. She's willing to share.]
