Ah, yes, Canada said the same when she met me. But no, I em female and most of the nations I remember are male. If is not rude to ask, who are you?

I heff been hearing this long enough that I em used to idea. I remember all of the female nations here as men. You as a very stubborn and hot tempered man but you were nice to me in meetings. [Nice, as in told Russia to stop picking on her once or twice.] But most find it hard to believe, so I find I spend a lot of time alone here in gardens for being... not what they remember.

...What about your sister? Er... Russia, I mean. Doesn't she spend time with you?

No, I em strange and Russia, my brother or my... sister here, is not one to like strange things. I heff talked with her on occasion but she sees me as more.... entertaining than family.

But no, I mostly talk with Canada. Most of the rest of the nations are... more into their original family dynamics and friendships. They all know each other here, but I do not mind, is no different than being home.

[hgfjkdgh Ukraine you are making her sad... England knows what it's like to be isolated, whether or not by choice. geez, not even Russia. though England is not so surprised]

I know, but is just how things are. I em very happy on my own and plodding around, do not worry, really! I just miss my farm and all of the animals, is weird for me being here and not heffing to work as hard as I heff all my life as a nation.

[she's trying not to show her concern, too... she's England, after all]

Still... [she is about to argue, but then closes her mouth, silently coming to the conclusion that she will try to befriend this Ukraine] Have you made any other friends?

Not really, I heff talked with America briefly and I think one of the italies, Austria I heff...but no, not any friends really. Just Canada and she's very busy, she has many friends and things are always happening.

Canada has many friends? [hm! curious. she likes that] How long have you been here?

Oh, hm, easily a few months, maybe half a year? It's hard to tell here with so many things going on and people changing.

[she nods, still frowning deeply]

Is it always like this, then? People coming and going without warning?

Very often, although, I think the activity of people coming and going has gone down quite a bit. You're the first new person I've talked to in a while, well... first person I've talked to in a while period. [She gives a small laugh, she tries so hard not to let it get her down.]

And it's all the Queen's doing. [sigh] How awful.

[She really can be depressing sometimes.]

Yes, and her games I do not find fun. They are... frightening.

Would you mind telling me some of the things she's put you through? [more depressing subjects]

Oh, recently we had a dream sharing thing happen. Most were very bad nightmares and before that shadows of many of our former rulers or cruel people appeared. There was a spring festival that was very fun, a lot of talking with new people.

The Queen's magic must be very strong. [rubs her face, thinking] Why do you think she is keeping people here?

Yes, and I think it is because she find us entertaining, like pets.

But... on the vine is not a place to discuss this. If you like you can come to my cottage and I think I heff some tea if you want to talk? You can ask t'e cats where I am.

[she agrees that this isn't the place to discuss anything of the sort]

Okie, is there any kinds of jam that you like? I've been making some here, need to keep busy.

Is no trouble at all! Jam is easy and fun to make. I know you like your tea buiscuits or whatever they are and Jam is always good with them. Just give me a flavour, there are plenty of wild fruit and berries here in the garden.
