little 009 [video/action]
[Following her adventure with Fela, Sephiroth decided to sail out to see if the ocean could be crossed. As it turns out, it could not be. After Sephiroth reached a certain point, she lost consciousness and awoke back on the shore, where her journey began. For her efforts, she was rewarded with a wildcard effect.
She is currently nine years old. More than that, she temporarily has only the memories of her nine year old self.
The silver-haired, green-eyed child is currently kneeling on the beach, wearing the white gown of a new arrival. The birds brought the garment for her because her usual clothes had become too large for her to wear. Her sword, pauldrons, and battle gear lie beside her on the sand. She remains still, as if waiting for something, though she has the slightly impatient air of someone who feels she has been waiting too long.
The Vine has wound its way toward her, and when it produces a mirror, she studies it curiously. It is something like a screen, and she needs to contact the researchers. She addresses it formally.]
Subject name Sephiroth.
I believe the intercom or the program may be malfunctioning. I have received no instructions, and the simulation is inactive. Please respond.
[[OOC: Sephiroth will be Tinyroth for the next 3 days, following which point all her memories will return. She will also retain her memories of her temporary second childhood.]]

I'm taken to other locations for the purposes of research, education, or socialization, but I am always under observation. I cannot take the army entrance exam until I am fourteen. [This strikes her as unfair, since she has no difficulty defeating the men from the army who are brought in to fight her.]
no subject
My world, huh? [There's a little smile.] Let's see... Not as many monsters as you guys have, scientists aren't really allowed to mess around with people they way yours do, and the science isn't quite as advanced. Also, no magic. At least, not that I've seen. And no one-world government so far. Probably some other stuff, but that's all I know so far.
Whoa, fourteen? They start you guys young. You're not even allowed to do most work until you're at least partway through high school where I'm from.
I guess it makes sense that they'd want to keep you accounted for and safe, but... still sucks. At least you can go out a little?
Anyway you're not under as much observation here, so... uh, have fun while you can. Only... don't kill anyone or mess up the landscape too much. You'll get punished, and you probably do not want that.

[She takes in what Jessica says about the differences between their worlds attentively and interestedly, but something strikes her as strange.] How do you know what my world is like?
I would prefer to enter the army now. I am already skilled enough. [She brightens a little.] I do like to leave the lab, especially for training exercises. [At Jessica's instructions, she nods again.] I would not kill anyone unless I were attacked. Other than that, I can do anything I wish?
no subject
Oh, um... well, I've met some people from there. [She considers mentioning one of them being adult Sephiroth, then decides a) the existential issues might put a damper on things and b) it doesn't exactly matter.] It sounds like a neat place, other than the potential for attack by terrifying monsters.
There's usually something about emotional well-being, mental development, and consent issues. You can be skilled and everything and still not really ready. Though, um, I don't know if that'd apply to you.
Yeah, pretty much. I mean, there isn't a ton of stuff to do here and the library sucks, but the ruins are kind of neat and there's a bunch to check out.
no subject
There are others from my world here? [That intrigues her.] Are there any SOLDIERs? [SOLDIERs are the coolest.]
I like to fight monsters. They're not so frightening. They're not very intelligent. [Monsters? No problem.] I do understand the reasons ordinary children are not allowed to join the army, but I believe I am prepared. [Whether she is ready or not, Sephiroth is certain that she is.]
[She looks crestfallen at Jessica's news about the library.] There are no interesting books to read? I was hoping to learn about the sciences of other worlds. Where are these ruins? [Archaeology is perhaps not her favorite science, but it is something.]
no subject
[d'awww] Not right now, no.
They don't have to be intelligent to mess up those of us who aren't amazingly powerful, though. Just have to be faster than we are. [NOT difficult when we are Jessica.]
Hah... yeah, part of the problem is that it's hard to tell you're not prepared if you think you are. Probably why people have to be 18 where I come from.
Yeah, sorry. I hate it, too. [She's thoughtful for a moment.] I might have some books in my, uh, old room. I'm not really sure if they'll be all that interesting, or even complete, but... [Hopefully she'll have remembered enough of them to reconstruct. She's read and reread quite a few.]
Kind of hard to tell. Just look for a cat- there's like a million around- and ask it to lead you there.
no subject
I believe the problem is that others would not be prepared for me. [Sephiroth is not a particularly modest child.] My physical and psychological development are not comparable to those of a typical human.
[She perks up at the mention of possibly interesting books.] I would like to read them. I don't know anything about other worlds.
A cat? [She's possibly even more interested by this prospect. She's not exactly allowed to play with animals, but the cats she knows of are not capable of responding to such instructions.] Are they genetically engineered cats?
no subject
Well, I'd say that since your development's not typical, that'd be even more call for caution. Though obviously they should be giving you more fun stuff to do and more freedom.
Sure. I can go grab them and then meet you at the ruins.
I don't know if they're that, or magic, or if they're even technically cats at all, or just things that look like cats. They're definitely too smart to be normal cats. [Jessica: has a low opinion of cats.]
no subject
[Sephiroth has heard similar reasoning before--not that she likes it.] Yes, apparently further study is required. I do like reading and fighting, but I do not like the experiments. [She says this with a trace of annoyance before brightening.] I can already defeat all of my opponents in battle. I can demonstrate for you.
[Mystery cats that might not be cats sound exciting. She gets in trouble for playing with the specimens in the lab. Though most of those are monstrous hybrids.] I would very much like to examine one. I will find one and meet you there.
no subject
I hear you there. What sort of experiments do you have to put up with, anyway? And, uh... I'm not really sure how you could demonstrate, here. (And I've already seen one recently...)
OK. I'll bring some books with me, too.
no subject
The experiments are classified. [She hesitates. If she is really in another world, it does not matter. This is nothing like one of the professor's experiments, so she is fairly certain that she is safe to speak here.] But I am exposed to radiation and various other stimuli, and the effects are recorded. Or I am placed in simulations and judged on my behavior and reflexes. Or I am presented with various opponents to fight. Every aspect of my psychology and physiology is analyzed.
I could demonstrate on the ocean for you. [This Sephiroth seems more eager to give a demonstration than her older self, though she is still calm, serious, and Sephiroth.] It would not harm anyone.
no subject
crushesfriends is awkward.][Her smile fades at the descriptions of experiments.] Yeah, that's... pretty terrible. Most of that stuff is the kind of thing that'd be against the law where I'm from. [Granted, the entire project would be, but she's not going to bring that up.]
On the ocean? Sure. [This she has got to see.]
no subject
I do not enjoy the experiments, but they are not against the law. President Shinra has come to check on my progress in the past. [She frowns, but is pleased by the idea of demonstrating her attacks. Usually she can only use them when told to.]
[Sephiroth wants to show how well she'd do in the army. She takes up the sword, even though it is more than half again as tall as she is, and turns toward the water. Even as she moves away from the Vine, it continues to show her actions, as if sensing her intent.
She double checks to make sure no one is around, because she's not supposed to kill anyone, but it is clear. She jumps up into the air and swings the sword; even if the balance is wrong for her, she can still handle it. Suddenly, the ocean seems to explode into flame as a huge fireball hits it. The fire is almost instantly extinguished, however, by a blizzardlike spray of ice that spreads across the surface of the ocean, freezing it.
Then Sephiroth jumps up again, attacking the ice with a rain of what appear to be orbs of dark energy. They crackle and crack the ice, and the water steams and boils. Finally, she rises even higher, panting slightly now, biting her lip with the effort.] Heartless Angel--
[Then she herself is surrounded with light, the brightest part of it shining above her, a bright form that does look something like an angel. The light shoots down, striking the ocean, sending water fountaining skyward as it fills the air around it with an ominous glow that likely does not have a positive effect.
Then Sephiroth comes to rest, breathing hard but smiling as she turns toward the mirror. She blinks, however, when the "angel" from her final attack flies shoreward from the blast zone her and hovers beside her. It vaguely resembles Sephiroth, although it is golden and has wings.] That usually doesn't happen.
no subject
[Yeah, Jessica is just going to sit here and gape for a few moments.]
no subject
That would easily kill anything within the blast radius.
[The angel flies around looking grave and surveying her surroundings, as if watching over Sephiroth.]
no subject
Good, now Sephiroth can be the one feeling embarrassed for once!Jessica's gradually recovering from HOLY SHIT, curious about the angel.]Well, I don't know if I'd be wanting that in an army... you'd kill all your, uh, guys. Troops.
Which part doesn't usually happen? That was all pretty unbelievable for me.
no subject
[Sephiroth frowns, affronted, folding her arms.] I would not strike my own men with my attacks. I can control them.
[She nods toward the angel.] This usually does not remain.
no subject
You could seriously target all that stuff to hit only the bad guys? [She's not sure she believes it. Then again, Sephiroth's already blown away her perceptions of what's possible, so...]
Huh. Might be this place messing with your, um, powers. That happens a lot, usually with pretty things like that. They're kind of predisposed in that direction.
no subject
Yes, of course. [Tinyroth is still slightly affronted, though she is mollified by the fact that Jessica seems impressed.] My demonstration was amplified for effect. I am usually asked to focus on a single opponent, to practice my control.
[The angel flies back to her and pulls gently at her hair. Sephiroth touches it experimentally with a fingertip.] That is interesting. It is solid. It feels warm.
no subject
[ffff so cute.] Never get to touch it before?
no subject
Usually it dissipates at once. It is simply a concentration of energy, part of the attack.
no subject
Is that so? Looks a little like you.
no subject
It does? [Sephiroth examines the angel more closely.] Yes, it does. It is made from my energy, so that is not surprising.
[All that demonstrating was a lot of work.] Is there anything to eat here?
no subject
Yeah. You'll probably want the apple trees in the orchard. The cats can show you there, too.
no subject
Apples? [They hold no particular appeal to her, and she doesn't seem pleased by this.] Is there only fruit to eat?
