Hello everyone. The queen brought us here to hook up, right? But seeing as there are only girls here, well, then that would obviously only work with lesbians. Therefore I am conducting an anonymous poll to try to understand the sexual preferences of our group as a whole.

Please respond back with your sexual preference as well as any notes or comments that have relevance. There is no need to reveal your identity if you don't want to. And, if you want to keep it simple and don't want any discussion of the matter, please just write a number.

Write "1" if you are a lesbian.
Write "2" if you are attracted to other girls but aren't totally sure.
Write "3" if you go for males and females.
Write "4" if there is a certain female you'd go for but not any other girls
Write "5" if you think you're not gay but aren't 100% sure
Write "6" if there's no way you'd be in to girls

Thank you. Hopefully this will help us understand who the Queen has brought here and why. [Because the author surely has no other motives.]

I would never have given the matter much thought, as I have had little opportunity to school myself in the ways of Eros before my arrival in this strange land. I had assumed that an attraction to the opposite sex was the only natural option, and yet I must admit that I have found myself feeling an "unnatural" attraction in response to one of the young ladies in this very place!

As an answer, I am uncertain which number to select, for I appear to be lacking in a statistically relevant sample size. For now, I shall mark myself as "3," under the assumption that there exists the potential within me for attraction to either sex.

My attraction to others is based on a potential partner's physical prowess and intellect. I consider gender irrelevant.

As for how and why the Queen selects her captives, it is possible that she does not have full control and can only select for sex, which would explain the seemingly random collection of female specimens.

I believe you have made an assumption about this place without sufficient evidence. The Queen wishes us to "build", and she would likely be satisfied with the building of emotional bonds without a physical component.

I can't say I've ever really thought about such things, but I don't believe love should have any physical boundaries. You love the person for who they are on the inside, not the outside.

I suppose that would make me a "3"! But I'm not exactly looking at the moment.

I don't know. Honestly, in reflection, most of my reasons are due to hearsay and things that could be taken a different way. For example, to me it seems odd that she only brings females here and has locations, literature, and such that pretty much scream "romance." But perhaps there's some other reason. [She'd be damn curious to know what that is.]

I worry that humans people tend to frown on that, but I don't see any reason why emotions should be limited based on physical differences. Affection is affection, no matter the gender. Intimacy is just an extension of that, isn't it?

Yes. I personally don't see anything at all wrong with liking both, even though I just like girls. But if you love someone, details like gender shouldn't get in the way. [Though Zenobia honestly can't see herself liking a guy. She finds the sentiment of being able to love anyone very comforting, however.]

I also think that it doesn't matter whether or not the person you love is technically human, either. [Zenobia pauses. Did she put out too much information? Will people be able to guess it was her? She's "only partially human" and worries about her demonic wing, after all.]

Well, I was hoping to use this to make some sort of observation on the types of people the Queen brings here, but I've been told that it really won't work. I suppose all that's left is for my own curiosity.

A solid 3 here, but honestly, I don't see that it really matters a great deal. Attractions and affinities have a way of stubbornly developing despite all attempts to restrict them with labels.

On another note, while it's true the the Queen does seem to want us to form close associations, I'm not sure where you got the idea that the point of all this is to involve us in some sort of sexual circus! Perhaps a pamphlet would help. I believe some have been stocked in the library.
