[careful writing appears on the Vine, slowly, a pause after each line. The writer is copying it down from a book, after all.]

If recollecting were forgetting,
Then I remember not.
And if forgetting, recollecting,
How near I had forgot.
And if to miss, were merry,
And to mourn, were gay,
How very blithe the fingers
That gathered this, Today!

[with that, the handwriting grows more confident and natural again, continuing further down the page.]

I found this in a book in the library...and a lot of other things like it. Is it some kind of puzzle? What does it mean?

[voice] haha yes!

Huh? What?

[Why is some kid suddenly yelling about car parts?]

[Okaaaay, what's happening? Reno looks into the mirror herself, though she has no idea what's going on. This is weird.]

Who? Sorry, kid, got no idea who you are.

[This is one strange kid.]

Good job, you know your colors.

Name's Reno.

[Even Reno doesn't want to make some weird kid cry.]

H-hey, don't get upset.

You don't gotta apologize because you thought I was your friend, it's cool.

[She shrugs. She doesn't know anything about it, and she doesn't care that much, as long as the kid's not crying.] Maybe we're long-lost relatives. I probably have a few of those.

Yeah, uh-- [What had she been saying? Oh, right. The poem.]

I was saying don't bother with it. Poems. Waste of time.

Seems like it. I've met a girl here who's a guy in my world. Some alternate reality thing.

You know why people read and write poems? To seem smarter than they are. Why bother sitting around with poems when you could be getting shit done?

Yeah, the chick here said I was a guy in her world, too. [She laughs, amused anew at the thought of guy Reno.]

I never said writing wasn't useful. I said poems are a waste of time. As a matter of fact, I'm thinking about writing my autobiography one day.
