Carnival: Babel [Action/Video]

[Zenobia is back at the Ferris Wheel.] Damn, still nobody here.

[She takes some time to study the ride, playing with the doors on the cars, and generally messing around. She quickly gets bored and goes over and turns on the vine.]

Hello! It's Zenobia here, and I was hoping someone out there would be willing to do me a little little favor. You see, I'm very interested in how this odd construction works [points to the Ferris Wheel behind her] but it apparently will not start without a second person to ride it.

I don't really have anything to give as compensation, but if someone would help me out, I'd owe you [grins] a favor.

I assume that these [points to the cars] rotate around the core of the the device, but I'm not completely sure. So I guess I'll find out if I can get someone to help me with it.

[Vitalia takes a while to get there, being unaccustomed to the area still. When she does show up, she quickly ascertains that they're alone before removing her shawl.]

My goodness! I'm sure we'll be able to see the entire area from the top of that! How very exciting!

Let's try! [Zenobia gets inside the car and takes a seat, smiling.] You can sit beside me or across from me. ...I guess there's not much room to the side of me, but I don't care.

[She looks doubtfully at the seat beside Zenboia; There is a whole lot of Vitalia (even leaving aside the issue of skirtage) and not a whole lot of space.] It seems like a proper balance would best be achieved if I took the opposite seat...

[She climbs in, daintily smoothing down her skirts as she takes a seat. Zenobia might catch some un-leglike movements from beneath the fabric.] I suppose it's automatic?

[It appears to be, as once the door latches, the motor hums to life and the car moves.]

Fairs and carnivals—where ferris-wheels are usually at—are pretty common.

At least, where I am from they are.

[Unfortunately, a charmer knows when she sees herself being charmed at, but a ferris ride does sound nice. Especially after the hustle and bustle of the past few weeks. She recalls the last time she rode a ferris-wheel, while it was many years ago... and rather a memory she would not like to resurface, she doesn't seem to hesitate on the answer.]

[It doesn't take Gabrielle long to find the ferris wheel (after all, it's not that hard to spot something so big amidst the Gardens in the first place), only about ten minutes or so. Calmly, she trudges over to Zenobia, giving her most polite smile and extends her hand as a greeting.]

This is the first blind date that I've been on in awhile!

Gabrielle. [Her thin fingers wrap around the other woman's hand. One would never be able to guess she is a sniper with how smooth her hands are. As quickly as she extended it, she pulls her hand away and cranes her head to the ferris-wheel.]

It's been a while since I've ridden one of these.
