[a new girl here has just spent a little bit talking to the Vine in attempts to figure out how it works exactly, so it catches some of Aerith's words before she actually begins to address the network]

So you're the one I have to talk to, hm? [a pause] Though I've heard that you carry the voices of others as well... so then, can you connect me, Miss Vine? [another little pause as she clears her throat]

Hello? Heeelllo?

The garden here is beautiful and I don't mind staying for a little bit, but I do need to know the way back... to the Lifestream -- or, my Planet at the very least -- for later. I think the others should be okay without me for now, but I'd like to be there just in case.

Hmm... that means that this can't be this Planet's version of the Lifestream, doesn't it?

Yeah. Yeah, it's me. [She sounds...well, shellshocked.] No I don't think it's the Lifestream...is that how you got here? Did you travel through...?

[a pause, and then it switches to video. Tifa looks very surprised, and confused.] Can you see me?

[it also switches to video for Aerith now without her immediately realizing what it was doing, so it catches her concerned expression. but when she sees Tifa's face, there's nothing but a bright smile on her face.] Yes! Can you see me too?

[Her eyes widen when she sees Aerith, and she gapes for a moment, uncomprehending.] Yes, I can. I can see you.

[Her voice is a little choked-sounding now, and she doesn't seem to notice, but a single, noble tear traces down her cheek.] It's really you. [And she smiles back.]

Tifa... [her smile and her eyes seem to soften, still filled with joy but gentler somehow -- comforting. she leans closer to the mirror and reaches out a hand to gently press her fingertips to a part of it.] It's okay, Tifa, don't cry. I'm really here, even if I'm not sure how.

It's... been a while, hasn't it?

[Tifa tentatively reaches out her hand as well, to touch the mirror. Her jaw sets, and she seems to compose herself relatively quickly, without moving much at all.] I'm...not sure either. I thought the others might show up, but not...

[She glances down, and nods.] It has been. Two years. How...how have you been? [after a moment, softly:] You were watching over us the whole time, weren't you?

[Aerith is watching carefully, and she nods as well when asked that question.] Of course. That's what friends do, right?
