•>[video] no more shifting sands
[Bent close to the camera, are a pair of blue-within-blue eyes, and then, after a moment, a bright smile. Her hand flashes to her lips to conserve moisture as she lets out a delighted laugh. It works!]
Ah, so that is what I must do. Thank you for working so nicely. [She tilts her head slightly, back and forth, as if deciding if she's comfortable. Arha frowns lightly and then sits cross legged, making sure she is still within view.]
So, I am in a new place--like before, when I should have died in the cold of space, and found myself in the desert sands. It is so green, here. My Mothers-Within, those who are Fremen, they say it is a wonder--while those who are not say it is strange and I should be wary. Why should I jump at shadows? I see this vine-thing, how it forms a speaking instrument, and I know that in this place I am not alone. I can see that you see me, too!
Hello to you, whomever you might be. [She flashes a quick wave and is all smiles.]
I am curious, always, about this place. I do not need my stillsuit here, not as such--the wind is not fierce and the heat, too, is different. There is so much moisture and so many water-fat creatures--they are not of the wildness of my desert, and they are not my Shai-Hulud--but they are a fascinating things.
[she pauses, her eyes wide as she thinks]
Is there to be a thing called an ocean? With the waves? This, I think, I would like to know, for I have not yet found it.

[Her frown is momentary.]
Life is full of change, it is not the change that matters, but how you accept it. I do not fear these things. [Arha flicks her fingers in a sharp, birdlike motion.] Fear is the mind-killer, so--change will come whether I sit here and smell the ocean or go and try to find such a thing.

Not that sort of change. But if you insist...look to the north-west.
May I have your name?

[She stills and flashes a grin.]
I am Reverend Mother Arha Masaari, Bene Geserit and Fremen. Do you wish to share a name?

I must confess the terms Bene Geserit and Fremen mean nothing to me.

As I have not touched upon Fremen, such I can relate.
The people who are native to the planet Arrakis, also known as Dune, or the desert planet, are known as Fremen. They are a fierce people, born and bred within the harsh climes of the deep desert. Life there is only sustainable via the use of a stillsuit. Such a thing preserves all moisture and reuses it in appropriate fashion. To the Fremen, nothing is wasted. The places where they live, tucked away from the prying eyes of the Imperium are called sietches and are very much cavelike. There they are protected from such eyes and, too, the winds of the deaert. Such winds can strip a man's flesh from his bones if they care caught in a great storm.
[Arha makes a slightly pained face at the thought.]
The Fremen are, too, warriors. All Fremen are trained to fight with speed and skill, it is the way. I am both Fremen and Bene Gesserit and was Bene Gesserit before I was true Fremen. Thus, I am trained in both disciplines.
I know the Weirding Way, in which I have total control over my body--and can move at great speeds. It is a matter of the mind influencing the body and knowing how to move. This is not a Fremen thing, it is outworld, and Bene Gesserit. But still, [a small flick of her fingers] it is a relevant thing.

Very, very informative. So you some from a universe where you have space travel. Mine is...very limited in that regard.

What is the sort of place that you have come from, Yu-kari?

However, my world has - shall we say - magic.
