[ Some will recognize the purple-haired woman shown in the mirror. Though why she's wearing one of those white shifts given to new arrivals might be a bit odd. Wasn't she a "regular" here? ] Eh? Where....?

[ Looking down at herself, and then around, she stood and walked to the edge of the clearing where she had spotted her clothes. Rather than pick up any one piece of her training uniform she just grabs her necklace and hangs it around her neck. ] Mach Caliber, are you there?

«I am active.» [ Comes the reply of a synthesized female voice, coming right from the necklace's teal gem. ]

Where are we?

«Central arrival position.»

[ That might not be a difficult deduction to make, given the surroundings, but still, it's rather odd how confused the woman seems about this. ] Do you detect anyone in range? Caro, Signum, Nanoha, Fate, Erio, ... Tohma? [ Though the latter are male names, and it's there that she laughs a little. ] No. They wouldn't be here at all, would they? [ Oh good. Seems she really does seem to remember this place. And that means the sight of the Vine recording her isn't all that unusual. She bounds on over. ] Hi everyone! It seems I've gone missing for a while. Can someone tell me the date and... maybe... give me a sound-off?

[ Calmer than a moment ago, she sits down in the grass. ] We don't have to talk long. I just want to make sure that everyone's all right.


(( OOC: And we're back! Though just with Subaru for now, and with a bit of a canon update. For those who would have noticed, she disappeared shortly after the start of the new year. o/ ))

Eheh, thank you. [ Subaru sits herself upright and catches her breath. ] Huh? Oh. I don't know. What's the day today? It still feels like winter so it can't be all that long... right?

It's been a few days, but I was kinda down. I thought you were gone for good, so that made me sad. I sorta wondered how long before this place went and took all the dudes I care about away.

Only a few days...? [ Ignore her momentary insensitivity, but that leaves her scratching her head. ] I had no idea it was so short. I've been gone a little over a week, counting the time back home.

[fionna_time]

Maybe its been that long? Sorry, I sorta lose track of time. So you weren't back home that long, were you?

[ The lack of solid timeframe is inconvenient, but she doesn't think about it for now. ] Not really. I did manage to tie up a few loose ends, so in a way, the timing was better for coming back. [ Furrowing her brow. ] I wasn't thinking about this place while I was home... I don't think I could have remembered if I wanted to.

«The data was omitted.»

[ She nodded. ] It was the same for Mach Caliber. How weird.

I don't think anyone does. It would be nice if they did. Things were getting a little scary when you were gone though.

[ Subaru blinked, her smile gone. ] ...what do you mean? What happened, Fionna?

Well, you weren't the only one that left, Subaru. Akiha's girlfriend was gone too. So she was in demon mode and stuff, and she threatened me.

[ There is one part of that which Subaru focuses on above all else — which is just her own selfishness showing, as well as the fact that she doesn't really know who the phrase "Akiha's girlfriend" describes more; Kris, or... ] Katina? Something happened to Katina?

[fionna_time]

[Fionna shook her head. slowly].

Well, Kris was who left, but she threatened me if I ever tried to break up her and Katina. I dunno why, but the demon girl was all about her. I should...I ought to tell you that I knew Katina was with you and Akiha though, Kris told me once. I didn't know that you didn't know about it though. I figured it was something normal in other girl's worlds or something.

Uh... what? Normal? [ Even though she was in the middle of all that — not literally; that was Katina's role — Subaru's head is still not on straight after her return. ] No, I wouldn't say that. But I don't think that's the important part. Where's Akiha?

[fionna_time]

Well not so much normal, but that it happens and everyone is cool with it. Like, Kris can like a lot of people, but she'll always be Akiha's. I haven't seen her in a few days though. I'm sorta surprised, she really seemed to wanna overthrow the queen.

I don't really get it myself, but I can't stop to think about it now. [ Sorry, Fionna, but her relationship mess is not the pressing concern. ] Can you tell me where you last saw her? Do you know if anyone was hurt? [ Whether by accident or not, from provoking Akiha or just being in the wrong place at the wrong time, if she needs to run out and put herself in between the crimson-haired half-demon and some unlucky resident, time is critical. ]

[Fionna is totally ok with that as long as Subaru is. It just confused her anyway and she never knew who she should be mad at]. Um, she was in the gardens last time I checked. She didn't hurt anyone but you could see she turned to the demon side because she...you know, was in pain. You know how Akiha is.

[ She nods. ] I get it. I know what's happening to her. [ Or so she pieced together from various conversations. The blanks can be filled in with the worst case scenarios for now; she can be proven wrong later. ] I hope she sees my message.

[fionna_time]

Yeah, I kinda figured it out too. She cut me up real bad when she was a demon before, remember? That's why she and Amamiya fought each other the last time.

[She blushed slightly, thinking of her girlfriend and their rather recent upgrade in their relationship].

Be careful. I'll go fight and get cut up if she does anything to you man.

What? No, I didn't know! [ Or maybe she just can't remember right now? Fionna has GOT to stop dropping these bombs on her, either way. ]

You didn't? Oh man, did I not tell you? That was awhile back, when the queen was doing something weird again. Akiha's demon part was kinda being evil, so I tried to fight her. Um, she's pretty dang strong, stronger than any demon I fought. I almost died.

It sucked.

I'm really sorry, Fionna. [ What more can she say, at this point, when she wasn't even there to help her out before? ] It's important that I go looking for Akiha now, then. So something like that doesn't happen again. [ How, precisely, she means to stop Akiha (who isn't even here anymore) is beyond her, but she'll cross that bridge when she finds it. ]

[Fionna actually shrugs]. I'm a hero, that's gonna happen anyway. But from that, I learned that who Akiha is and what that demon is is kinda different. I don't want anything bad to happen to her either.

It sounds like we're on the same page, at least. [ Which doesn't mean Subaru can't be concerned for all her friends, equally. ] But that doesn't mean any of us should be handling a dangerous situation like that alone. Having seen what she can do, you can understand that.

[fionna_time]

Well yeah. We don't get along, but that doesn't mean I want the monster in her to keep her away. Akiha has the right to be happy too.

[Fionna looked thoughtful about this.] Nah, that'd be dumb. Only way I would do that is if she tries to live up on that one threat she said to me.

I'm sure she won't. [ If only Subaru had anything to base that confidence on but gross amounts of personal optimism. ]

I hope not. [She sighed]. Have you seen Katina already?

No, not yet. [ For a couple of reasons. ] I'll have to keep an eye out for her, too.
