[ Some will recognize the purple-haired woman shown in the mirror. Though why she's wearing one of those white shifts given to new arrivals might be a bit odd. Wasn't she a "regular" here? ] Eh? Where....?

[ Looking down at herself, and then around, she stood and walked to the edge of the clearing where she had spotted her clothes. Rather than pick up any one piece of her training uniform she just grabs her necklace and hangs it around her neck. ] Mach Caliber, are you there?

«I am active.» [ Comes the reply of a synthesized female voice, coming right from the necklace's teal gem. ]

Where are we?

«Central arrival position.»

[ That might not be a difficult deduction to make, given the surroundings, but still, it's rather odd how confused the woman seems about this. ] Do you detect anyone in range? Caro, Signum, Nanoha, Fate, Erio, ... Tohma? [ Though the latter are male names, and it's there that she laughs a little. ] No. They wouldn't be here at all, would they? [ Oh good. Seems she really does seem to remember this place. And that means the sight of the Vine recording her isn't all that unusual. She bounds on over. ] Hi everyone! It seems I've gone missing for a while. Can someone tell me the date and... maybe... give me a sound-off?

[ Calmer than a moment ago, she sits down in the grass. ] We don't have to talk long. I just want to make sure that everyone's all right.

(( OOC: And we're back! Though just with Subaru for now, and with a bit of a canon update. For those who would have noticed, she disappeared shortly after the start of the new year. o/ ))

[ Subaru has to bite back another apology. It literally couldn't be helped, in this case. The only thing that would have worked would have been... ] It's cruel that she didn't return you, too. I'm sorry that you haven't been able to go home yet, but I hope I can stick around until that time comes.

[ No apologizing for something you literally had zero part in. ]

Yeah it is. I don't like the thought of keeping you away from home, but... I really need people like you with me if I'm stuck here.

Katina... [ There isn't much else she can say to that. ] I'm here, now. [ Anything else would be an empty promise. ]

And I'm glad you're here...

[ Sighing, she wraps Subaru up in a quick hug. ]

[ That hug is very welcome. ] You know, I don't want to go into everything that happened while I was at home but... I think I feel better about being here this time. Now that I know how things turned out and what everyone is doing to work toward resolving the crisis we were in. It takes a lot of weight off of my shoulders, so I can focus on what I've got to do here.

Oh? Glad to hear it. It's better here if you aren't worried about home all the time. I haven't been too worried myself, but then, I'm not the top ace anyways.

Eheh, neither am I, either, but we both have our roles to fill I'm sure. [ Subaru looks around as she talks, taking in her surroundings. She hasn't decided if she's going to be staying at the empty mansion, or moving back into the onsen, or what. It's a little odd to be thinking about such details when she had just been assigned a dorm in the barracks and a new uniform not a couple of days ago... to settle back in, here; was that really okay? ]

Yeah... I'd love to be fighting again, with all the people I'm worried about...

[ She better settle in, or she's gonna have a rough time, always ready to move out. Katina's place is a little small, but it's got enough room for two people - more easily if they share a bed, though Katina's not sure if Subaru's ready for that. ]

[ Probably not just yet. Unless it's cold in here and Katina needs a personal space heater or something. ] You'll get your chance, one day. [ They can't all be stuck here for-literal-ever. So far she hasn't heard from anyone who's been here all that much longer than her, so who's to say that Katina won't have a turn to go home soon? Seems like a logical assumption to base hope on. ]

[ It's not cold, so... she's not sure how to bring up their relationship right now. ]

Sooner or later. And then... [ Katina shrugs, but the thought of not seeing anyone from the gardens ever again makes her want to do more than that. ]

Eventually... [ And this moment of hesitation is interrupted by a loud complaint from Subaru's stomach. ] Eheh, whoops. What can I say? Training works up an appetite.

Especially for someone like you. I'll put together a snack, but I don't have a ton of food on hand.

Thanks, Katina. [ She won't eat Katina out of house and home, much as that was physically possible to do. So long as she sits down and rests, she'll be fine with a snack. ] I'll help restock as soon as I've had a break, promise!

No worries! [ Sandwiches are always good. They feed each other sandwiches a lot. ]

Once you're rested we'll go... ah... shopping.

[ One can't really go wrong with sandwiches. She chuckles. ] That sounds nice. [ And it sounds better than "scavenging". Subaru finds herself lapsing into silence as Katina went about her business, a hand to her forehead as she sorted out her thoughts. She knew that she had no memories of here while she was at home, and yet now she has both and there's a dull ache present whenever there is overlap. Such as when thinking about Vivio's tournament, and the time she nearly blew off the entire roof of the onsen... ]

[ Gonna go making those. ]

Yeah. We'll pick up whatever you want. You know I'm not picky.

[ She smiled and took a seat so she could literally take the weight off of her feet. ] Mmn, I remember. I remember everything, now, even if I forgot for a while. [ The thought was enough for her to deflate visibly. How sad it was, to now know that she went so much as one day without being able to recall her experiences here. ]

[ Subaru needs a little break, while Katina does the work. ] So everyone still forgets it all, huh?

[ There's the real reason not to leave. ]

That's what it seems like. Even sitting there in the clearing, it came to me in waves. It's... I can't really describe the feeling, but my head feels just a little heavy. [ A short laugh. ] Nothing like when I arrived the first time. [ And had enough pep to try and blast her way out first thing. ]

And coming back is different too. [ That's no surprise, at least, but the memory loss is far more worrying. Katina pauses what she's in the middle of. ]

I don't want to forget. Not you and Akiha. Not even the bad things that've happened.

I don't want to forget, either. Who would? [ It's a rhetorical question, but she can't think of anyone who would want to ignore even their trauma for the sake of... what? Peace of mind? People can't learn that way; they can't develop and grow stronger, to overcome the next challenge. That's why she doesn't resent any part of her own upbringing, despite the hardships faced. ]

I don't think there's anyone here who's had it nearly that bad.

[ There isn't anything Katina would want to forget, not even being torn apart, but she can almost understand how something could be bad enough to want to just get rid of it in your own mind. ]

...though I do know a few who don't want to leave. [ At least, she considered Homura's sentiment to be something that the other magical girls have shared. ] Do you know anyone who's still here? I've only heard from Fionna and you, so far.

Well I ran into Grell, and I know she wants to stick around. [ It makes sense, what with this place only being actively terrible every once in a great while. ] Fionna too?

I don't think I ever met her. [ Things are hazy, but that name doesn't sound too familiar even if she strains herself. ] It seems like Fionna's missing some friends, and I said I'd help look out for Akiha and the others but... that was before I talked to you. [ And found out it was a moot point. ]
