As our gracious host has been so kind as to give us all more sugar than any of us need and a distinctive lack of most other forms of real sustenance, I would like to take the time to provide everyone with a proper gourmet meal.

As I understand, in America, tomorrow would mark a holiday to give thanks with an extravagant feast. So, for dinner tomorrow, I am inviting all of you to the Tohno Mansion for such a meal. As I am not American, I cannot claim it will be a Thanksgiving feast as per preset standards, but I assure you, it will be an excellent meal with plenty of meat and other culinary dishes we've been unable to have at our leisure as of late.

Dinner will be served at five o'clock sharp. I ask that, as I'm inviting all of you - even those of you I do not get along with - that you be on your best behavior. If you wish to partake in alcohol, I suggest you bring it along with you that I am not keen on sharing.

Please, accept my generosity and join me for the evening.

[Akiha bows her head slightly before picking up her tea to sip.]

Well, if you wish for me to be on my best behavior, then I shall bow down from partaking in your feast. There are those that are in actual need of food, which would just make me feel like a food thief.

Tch. Please. There is plenty of food and no one under my roof has to remotely worry about going hungry. I simply do not want any fights at this.

There is also the fact I would just feel awkward there.

Ah, if I remember my holidays correctly, Thanksgiving is one that is traditionally spent around family.

She would understand my desire to spend more time with my mother, yes?

She will not given she has no family and doesn't remember her parents. You should just bring your mother to the feast and then you get both.

And I don't have to listen to Kris whine.

So, just how obvious is it that I just don't want to go and that I was using excuses to save face?

... Even though that last one might happen anyway.

Quite obvious. And whereas I don't particularly care if you come or not, I know how Kris will feel. And I'd rather her not whine.

You can't blame me for forcing your hand on the matter.

How in the hell did I manage to mean so much to her.

I have no idea. Just as I have no idea how she came to love me.

But she does, so we have to deal with it. [Dismissive as always, Akiha was, though maybe there was a bit more softness than before.]

She would probably say you were nice to her or something just as ridiculous.

Some time ago I said she could not hug me unless she goes on a spiritual journey to find her spirit animal.

I now believe that it is a dog. She is a dog. I have this feeling that, if I were to throw a stick, she would catch it in her teeth and bring it back to me.

...I don't know if I should be upset with you for that conclusion or not.

Honestly I'm rather stunned by it.

And why is that?

Because it makes so much sense to me... and I can only think of dog related things now. I should probably sleep.
