[The Vine opens up to reveal the inside of Utena's dormitory, the Tower Room in particular. It's spacious and lacking in decoration and furniture, except for a strangely shaped bed that Anthy is sitting on, her legs together and her hands in her lap as she faces the screen with a serene smile. She'd like to address the residents of the Gardens for the first time, formally.]

Hello. [For the most part she's been keeping to herself. A hideous spattering of nightmares and the strange incidents of the past month have kept her from revealing herself too soon. Among other reasons. It hasn't been a pleasant arrival for her, but she doesn't appear disturbed or distressed in the least.] Ah, how to begin? I'm quite new, you see, so you may not recognize me.

Then again. [Her voice switches key, imperceptibly. Lower, a bit darker.] This room here is a place I do recognize. [Anthy brightens up her tone and her smile before she speaks again.] I was wondering...

If anybody knew the person who used to live here?

[OOC: first post ahhhh she's trying to find out more about Utena obviously but please feel free to bug this antisocial loser so she can maybe make some friends god.]

I... might have known her? I've been here a while. Where are you?

Thank you. [All smiles, and she seems to take the welcome at face value.]

I'm at a dormitory in the Gardens. It's an almost exact copy of one that I used to live in with a friend of mine.

It's my understanding that she used to be here, but that she's gone now.

Oh. I'm sorry. People kind of... come and go a lot here.

What's your name?

I see. [A hint of disappointment. Just a hint. Still smiling as she remembers her manners.]

Ah, I'm sorry, I'm Anthy Himemiya. It's nice to meet you, Miss Boyette.

[notvitiligo]

Yeah, that's... pretty harsh, really. [Knowing a friend was here and then gone... she can barely imagine it.]

Oh, geez, just Jessica, please. Miss Boyette makes me feel like I'm in trouble or something. Uh, but yeah, nice to meet you, too. I'm guessing you read over the scroll and stuff already?

Yes, I have. I've been here for at least a month.

[She sounds a bit tired. It's been a strange month, to say the least. Some of the other residents seem harmless, like this Jessica, but some of the others, not so much.]

Oh, have you read the brochure? It kind of explains some...

Are you all right?

[exbride]

[Blink.] I didn't know there was one.

Oh, yes, I'm fine. [Polite smile is back on.] These Gardens can do all sorts of strange things to you, can't they? At least the dreams have stopped.

Oh, yeah, hold on a sec.

[She fiddles with something offscreen, and a sheaf of parchments emerges on Anthy's end.]

Yeah, you have no idea. Fair warning: things kind of get crazy once a month here. [Well, maybe not all that crazy to someone from Utena...] Like, Alice in Wonderland crazy.

Wait... You recognize that room, but you do not recognize this place?

Yes. I was a little shocked to see it here, to be honest. [Though she doesn't sound it.]

How bizarre... this is the first reaction like this I've heard of.

It seems as though people from my world have passed through here before.

[imperial_ray]

Hmm, I suppose that explains it... They must have built it with the sand.

[exbride]

Yes, probably. Where are you from?

[imperial_ray]

Oh! Um... well I was raised in Switzerland for a short period of time, but I was living in Paris before coming here.

[exbride]

A European. [She even sounds a little excited to hear country names that she recognizes.] I'd like to know what those places are like.

It could have been you who have made this room. It is entirely possible that you came here before, left and have now returned.

[exbride]

... [Now that's interesting. There's a pause on Anthy's end before she responds.] And I would have no memory of this?

Well, if you actually were here before and did this, then I'd say it would be rather obvious. However, for those that have came and left, it's a bit of a coin flip for if they remember anything if they should come back.

[exbride]

What strange rules. [Another pause.] I think my friend made this room. Have you ever met an Utena Tenjou during your stay here?

[shanghaiworld]

I may have, I may not. A name is something I may have forgotten or never gotten, but if you think a physical description may work better, would you give that?

[exbride]

[Stock-still. Something about the conversation has discomfited her, but she goes on.] Well, she often dresses up like a man. She's tall and she has pale skin.

[shanghaiworld]

And how about her hair? Is it something simple, like a brown, or a bit more unique, such as blue, green or pink. Or rainbow, but I'm sure you would have mentioned that if it was.

[exbride]

If you can't recognize her by her name or any of those descriptors, I don't think any relationship you might have had with her would be of any use to me. [Sweet-sounding but cold.]
