But the true light sleeps, deep within the darkness. That's why the worlds are still scattered, divided from each other. But someday, a door to the innermost darkness will open and the true light will return."

[She'd memorized the story from Kairi's grandmother. She'd spent so long turning it over in her head, engraved it into her heart.]

What makes you believe in your God? I believe in the light because I've seen other worlds. I've seen what the darkness in people's hearts can become. I've seen the power of the Seven Princesses and the Keyholes and the doors to the hearts of worlds.

It's what faith is. I believe in God because I've had the opportunity to see His light.

But why does it invalidate what I've seen?

Because you seem confused on what you've seen.

Why? Because it's different? Then explain to me what the Heartless are--creatures born from the heart consumed by darkness.

I've never met one, but I'm sure that you're misinterpreting the facts.

That's what Heartless are. they're... They're the darkness in people's hearts. And they devour the hearts of others.
