Simple enough. There are no gods.

The Queen brought us here for her amusement, or else because we are useful to her in some way. We would need a straightforward answer from her to say for certain, but we're unlikely to receive it.

I'm not sure that she has the right to determine our purpose.

But that is what tyrants do, determine others' purposes. Like the so-called God you mention.

God's not a tyrant. He puts out the path to our own redemption, but we don't have to follow it. We've proven that, certainly. Accepting my purpose from Him...it's a good thing.

Oh, our own redemption? How generous! And what that means is decided by whom?

All gods are tyrants. Why else would they proclaim themselves gods? If you wish to subjugate yourself to another's will, then by all means do so, but not all of us are so weak.

It isn't weak to know humility. If you don't wish to try to understand a purpose greater than your existence, then I can't help you.

What I believe is that all people are free to write their own destiny. There is no martinet in the sky setting arbitrary rules, keeping watch.

What greater purpose can there be? What could be more humbling than true freedom and responsibility? But then, it's true that some aren't fit for such a burden.

We can write our lives, but that doesn't mean that there isn't a preferred path, a way that we morally should head.

Certainly we have free will and definitely responsibility, but what we do here doesn't just serve ourselves.

It also doesn't mean there is a preferred path or moral direction.

If there is a god who directs our movements or decides our fates in any sense, then our wills are not free.

Not that I believe your little fiction. Oh, there may be powerful beings who declare themselves gods and enjoy playing the role, but that's another matter.

There is one true God, He who created us and still has a hand in our Creation for as long as the world continues. You do yourself a discredit to call the truth a 'little fiction'.

Now, I haven't heard that particular myth before. If it were true, I'd say your god should work on his public relations.

I believe you do us all a discredit by calling your little fiction truth, my dear.

It's not a myth! Just because you're ignorant doesn't make things false.

I think you're mistaken about which of us is ignorant.

Every world has its fairy tales about gods and monsters. Just because you believe yours to be true, that doesn't mean they are.

And just because you think you're somehow "free of God" doesn't mean you are.
