If you can't do swords, how about bows?

[Ky's there as soon as she has a chance to prepare. Her sword hangs in her hand, and she starts running through warm-up exercises.]

[Using Fuuraiken without electricity magic will be a little unusual, but Ky will do her best to manage.]

I wasn't planning on it.

[Ky's been a soldier long enough that she's not going to skip warming up if no one's life is in danger.

Still, it doesn't take too long, and then she's ready.]

[Lyn plucks the smaller katana and sheath off the cloth tied around her waste and draws the sword.]

Ready?

[Ky nods, shifting her stance a little.]

I am.

[She takes up her own stance but, at the moment, she doesn't make any move to strike out.]

[Ky feels under no obligation to stay still once Lyn stands ready, so she moves forward almost immediately, sword up -- not moving so definitely that she can't pull it aside if for any reason the other woman doesn't block it, but it's certainly an attack.]

[Lyn doesn't have any preconceptions about her strength, that is for sure. She's not exactly the Hulk so she prefers dodging over blocking and potentially wearing herself out too early.

So that's exactly what she does. Pivots out of the swing of the blade.]

[Ky's slower, but when she strikes it's generally with precision and a fair amount of power behind it. The key to her attacks is timing, and it's that she's trying to figure out now. She's not moving fast enough to tire herself out quickly -- and the fact that she's not using lightning means she's actually using less energy than usual. For that reason she really doesn't mind being the one on the offensive.]

[A lot like Hector. But with swords instead of axes. Which he could do but that totally wasn't the point.

The point here is that her sheath isn't out of play. Instead, it works like a blunt secondary weapon. Especially when her sword is a little out of reach because she twisted a certain way to move.]

[Sheaths don't cut like blades, and Ky's willing to take a couple hits with it if she thinks it'll help her get her blade closer. It's a calculated risk, but blunt force doesn't mean as much as targeted force.]
