[ It's the afternoon when Subaru appears on the vine. She is seated on the edge of an open door facing outside the background obviously a traditional Japanese style building that long-term residents will recognize. The young woman is wearing a plain t-shirt and shorts, though she looks like she's been rolling around in the dirt. Her gaze is far away, like she didn't notice the mirror creeping up on her. Truth is, she just forgot about it in the brief few moments it took to coax it into unfurling for her. ]

...ah! Hi there. [ A smile. ] It's Subaru. I've been sort of keeping to myself lately since the incident with the sky pirates so I wanted to apologize to everyone, and see how you're all doing. [ It feels to her like she knows most of the Gardens by now, or has at least casually spoken with them all once or twice. That's almost as good as becoming her friend, in most cases. ]

I wanted to report on what I've been busy with! The roof of the inn is completely restored, now, so no more weird leaks or sudden noise from the wind. I'm also almost done building the swimming pool out back, but I'm still working on a pump and filter so that it won't end up looking like a murky pond after a few weeks, eheh...

[ Then her eyes are downcast, which does not go with her otherwise enthusiastic expression. ] I also... wanted to make a note that all the other rooms here are free, now, except my own. [ She pauses, looking over her shoulder into the building. ] I've been meaning to say something about it, but Vivio has been gone for some time. [ There is a sad smile there for that, but it's hard to tell with her turned away like that. ] I'm sure she's back at home, now, with her two mamas. ... I can't say I know what Suruga Kanbaru has gone home to, but I think it's the same for her. Her room was empty this morning except for the same kind of flower petals I swept away when Vivio disappeared.

[ After another pause, she turns back to the mirror, smiling a little easier even if it is a strain on her. ] So please, feel free to come visit at any time. You won't be a bother to me at all, and you can use any of the facilities here at your convenience. The onsen, the training mats in the corner rooms, the futons... even the kitchen and the ice cream maker! [ A wave. ] I think I'm going to go enjoy a cold treat right now, so I'll see you all later!

[ Subaru is none the wiser, but even so. ] That sounds like a cute idea. If that's the case, let me know and I'll prepare one of the rooms for you. [ Which, since they're clean, just means laying out a couple of futons and opening a closet. ]

A-Ah, um, it probably won't be too soon, we've got a lot to work to do on the garden still. [It takes her a moment to smile again.] But I'll let you know when we decide, Nakajima-san.

Oh, of course! There was a big mess all over, so I'm glad to hear you're all working hard, too. [ Subaru should probably expand her clean-up radius a bit. ] I'll look forward to it, Homura.

Our little garden didn't get hit too hard, actually. We were just hoping to do some more landscaping before autumn comes. [She had started growing flowers with the prior Madoka here last summer, and has been working to expand the garden a bit since the spring with the newer one.]

Do you think it'll happen that soon? Hmm. I should hurry up with the work on the pool, or it'll be too late to really enjoy it.

Well, it is almost to the end of August. [She's careful to keep track of the dates on the calendar she made from the magical dirt. As for days of the week and leap days, there's no helping knowing those if they even exist, but she can't be more than a day off for the latter anyway, assuming things keep to the same calendar length as Earth.] The seasons can be a little weird sometimes, but they usually change about the same times as Earth it seems like. [But happening all at once, for instance, at the Queen's whims. But the Queen certainly seems keen on the seasons in general.]

Do you think maybe there's some way to warm it when it's cold? [If it's right by hot springs, then...]

Ah, that's right. [ Knowing the exact dates would hinge on knowing what year this is supposed to be, and there's no telling THAT since the Queen likes to pull people in from all different times. ] I hope it'll be at least close to normal. Even so, I'm mostly worried about all the leaves I'd have to clean out.

As for the temperature... maybe. I'd have to get it working first before I worry about being fancy.

[Thankfully Homura managed to catch a concrete date in the past thanks to a party invitation from the Queen, but there's still no telling if February has 35 days or whatnot in this world as far as she's been able to learn.]

I guess it would be hard to hang up something like netting above it unless it's small...

[ New Years did make a good point of reference, that way. ]

Eheh, it turned out a little bigger than I expected. [ Read: the blast radius was not as shallow as she hoped. ]

[She has no clue at all.] Well, pools are more fun if they can fit a lot of people in them, I guess.

[ A nod. ] True! There isn't enough room to do laps or anything like that, but fortunately we have the beach and the lake for that.

Do you think it'll be good for beginners? Since there aren't waves...

......I didn't think about including a shallow end. [ WHOOPS. ] But I'm sure I can make some floating devices!
