I have a small request of you, if someone could please help me out. It might seem odd, but I have given this a lot of thought, and...

[ Mugi closes her eyes, taking a deep breath as if to prepare for something serious. And her expression is quite serious when she opens those blue eyes again and leans in closer to the mirror. ] Is there anyone who could teach me magic?

I don't know if it will all work here, because God isn't here, but if you need protection from bad magic, you can use these to make spirits guard you or something.

[ Mugi stares down at her notepad, then back at the vine. ] If I write them down so I will remember them, will something happen?

It has to be serious for it to work. You have to will it.

Why do you want to know magic?

[ Mugi nods. ] Understood! [ She... will be less serious looking as she sketches out the symbols on her notepad. You would think that she has to stop to re-ink her quill, but nope! ]

Ah! I just find the idea very interesting. I also want to be able to do things to defend myself if there are any more kidnappings or things like that. I doubt I will be very good at it, but I won't know until I try!

Were you one of the people that got kidnapped?

[ Pausing in her writing. ] Yes, I was. It wasn't so bad, but we were gone a very long time and so many others worried.

Were you scared?

[golden_gaytime]

[ Shaking her head. ] Not very, but it was worrisome. There were a lot of new things for me to see and do, so that part was nice. I just wish she had asked us, instead!

[mother_of_god]

I'm glad you got back safe and sound. I was really really worried that she might hurt people, or take them away.

[golden_gaytime]

Thank you! I'm glad that the other were returned unharmed, as well, though I know several who were more upset than I was. [ And might have learned more but apparently, to Mugi, learning how to behave as a pirate crewmate took priority over actually exploring the vessel. ]

You must be really brave!

[ Blushing faintly. ] It was nothing like that. I just knew that others would come, sooner or later, so I had faith in them.

Sometimes people don't come. Only someone who's brave and strong and a hero.

But they did come. [ Mugi's optimism is unfettered by the gravity of the situation. ] I was so happy to see them, and glad that it was all ended before anyone was seriously hurt.

I think things are nicer here. Maybe because it's like Paradise. It isn't as scary as where I came from.

It does feel a lot like a fairytale wonderful, I find. I'm glad to hear that you seem to enjoy it!

It's better because there are no dragons or evil witches.

[ Mugi hums in thought. ] It seems like the word "witch" means lots of different things to different people. Kazumi-san dislikes the word for what it means to her, yet Saigyouji-san and Alice use it freely.

Where I came from, people didn't like witches, but nobody here minds.

It's a girl that does magic where I come from.

It just goes to show that we can't judge someone by their name or title.
