[There is much rustling through the tree fort, and a frantic bunny person has a rather pained expression. She knows its happened, and if she had any sense, would have expected and thought about it. But Fionna was a person who preferred to put the bad things that happened out of her mind in favor of the good stuff, and there was still plenty of that, so long as there was still a reminder she had her bros here.

But that ended today. No bros. No Cake. No one to share her space with. Just a big, empty tree fort. And saying that to herself, seeing that empty space where Marceline's room was, where Princess Bubblegum's room was, that just hurt worse than anything that happened.

She just feels lost right now.]

Uh, so Marceline is gone. So if you guys knew her...she was a pretty bombastic friend, and you oughta know so you don't find out later. *sniffs* She was pretty cool.

Me too. Heh, kinda more than a little bit!

The usual, really. Nothing's really happened - apparently the Queen didn't see fit to grace me with a crying egg, unlike everybody else.

Eh. It was prolly a good thing though. Some people in the garden aren't meant for that kind of stuff. It's why my friend Samus brought her egg to me.

Good to know I rank even below that level in the Queen's estimation.

If that's what the queen believes, she's just dumb. I can't see anybody lookin' at you below level. Not at all.

She may have a point here, though. My own mother wasn't exactly much of a role model.

Well I don't even know my real moms! I mean, cake's mom is pretty much my mom anyway, but still!

I have it worse, then. My mother abandoned us with no warning.

Your mom a...a what now? Like, just left you guys alone?

Don't know. She didn't say. She just walked out one morning. I think she may have been cheating on my father, though.

That's not cool dude. Parents are supposed to look after kids, you can't just leave 'em! You don't know what could happen!

But at least your dad was around, right?

My father was never really around.

So it was just you and your siblings? Really?

That's just not cool man. Family's real important to me. Maybe its cuz I was left alone in the forest, but still dude. The family I have were worth it.

And you sorta have family here, right?

Only child, I'm afraid. My father was always away on work, so I hardly saw him. In fact, even before I got sent here it was months at least since I last saw him. That was...probably why my mother cheated on him, to be honest.

[Fionna doesn't know what to say to this, so what she's thinking is purely in the eyes. She didn't know why, and it certainly didn't make sense, but she wanted to protect Amimiya, or at least make things easier for her].

Well. Things'll be different here if I gots anything to say about it. I mean, heck, who says I can't be your family here?

[Yeah, it suddenly dawned on Fionna that thinking of herself as a family member for Amimiya was weird. She should have said aunt, but suddenly it made sense to be a distant relative].

Hey, I'll probs be doing your laundry anyway, so it'll be a little like family!

[She meant it as a joke but as soon as it fell out of her mouth she blushed the hell up.]

Ha, I guess you're right, in a way! Ya know, I mean, because I do stuff for you and junk. But nothing wrong with that, since people help out each other. Besides, you'll be a good one for that guy you left back home.
