[Not even watching the vines twist and twine together, tuning into the new arrival that had already been very much distracted in The Gardens.

She was breathing. Living. Her testing clothes being taken away from her was replaced by a dress, but the metal collar was still wrapped around her neck.

It was all confusing.

She couldn't understand it, sitting there staring at the flowers that she so badly wanted to see all around her with a shocked expression on her face.]

Haine?

[The first word that stumbled from her mouth was barely even audible. Lily stood up, realizing the mirror that had been recording her, her once surprised expression had easily adjusted to a gentle smile.]

Hello? My name is Lily and um...

[She glances back at the flowers.]

This place is really pretty! I also got a letter, but I don't know how to read it... can someone help me?

[Utena waves, and smiles. Best to set a new arrival at ease, she thinks.]

Hello. My name is Utena. Can you hold up the letter? I'll read it for you.

Hi, Utena! Okay, let me just get it...

[She seems nice! Instant trust in the older looking woman, Lily holds up the welcoming letter.]

Mm! I can see it. Good job. Let's see..."You are cordially invited to join us in the Gardens. Your needs will be met. You will be protected. You will be one of us. Together, we will build.

Oi... [a slight frown.] it's the same letter she gives all of us. You're in a place called the Gardens, where a Queen is in charge.

[The frown brought a sudden rush of concern, her lips twitched before forming a small frown of her own.]

The Gardens? [She tilted her head.] And the Queen took me here? ... But why?

She brings a lot of us here. [Hm, this girl seems young. Best to smooth it over...] I think she wants everyone to be happy, but she goes about it the wrong way.

Happy? [Well there's something that Lily hardly even dreamed of.]

Well, she sounds nice if she's trying to make everyone happy!

Well... [A helpless little smile. What a cute kid.] I guess you're right about that. Say, Lily. Do you need any more help?

[She takes a quick look around her.]

Um... do you know where I'm supposed to go next? I'm kinda lost.

Oh, geez...I guess you wouldn't know where to go, huh? [She frowns again, in a considering sort of way, and then brightens up.] There are the Necessities, but...say, how about this? You can stay with me and a friend of mine until you get used to stuff around here. Would that be fine for you?

Stay with you and a friend? [This thought had to take a second to be thought of. Lily didn't want to possibly hurt anyone that she would possibly become close to here.]

Um... sure! I'd love to! What's your friend's name?

Good! I'll come and find you. And her name is Himemiya - Anthy Himemiya. She's my good friend.

Hi... Hiiimeee.... [Utena is gonna have to help her out on that name, or Lily will just call her Anthy.] Okay. Then we can all be friends~!

And, um... I guess I'll be waiting right here, then! [She steps out of the way of the mirror, to expose that Lily had not moved an inch, and was still in the Gardens.]

[Utena seems to catch the hint, and carefully enunciates:] Hi-me-mi-ya. Like that. [It'll be good for Anthy, she thinks, to have someone else around.

Utena knows her way around the Gardens - she's spent too much time stuck here not to - and it doesn't take her long to figure out where Lily might be.] All right. Hang tight, okay? I'll be there soon.

Hime... Hiiiimeeeemiya! Hey! Hey! I got it~!

Okay! I'll wait right here! [And at that very moment, the Vines cuts off. Lily will just wait for Utena while rocking back and forth on her heels.]

That's perfect! [Utena nods and smiles brightly.] Okay, I'm on my way now.

[And eventually she does arrive, hands stuffed into the pockets of her jacket, her expression open and curious. She's looking around for Lily.]
