«There was resolution. Thank you.»

[ There is a long pause in which one might think she disconnected altogether, having completed the initial objective of this call. ]

«...I must know: what is the meaning of an individual?» [ Someone has been thinking about what happened during those days in Subaru's body, and the new things she has learned. ]

I dunno if the answer has to really be that complicated... it's a little difficult to think about, but it shouldn't be this huge list of things.

So... I'm thinking that if you can think that far about your individuality, then you've already got it, or something like that. I mean, dogs don't think about why they exist, or whether or not they qualify as an individual in the sense that a person is.

Yeah like that. I mean, I like it partly because it's simple, but I've met and made friends with non-humans. One of 'em is an android, and while that means she has more organic parts than you, she was still made rather than born - and she's not any less important because of it.

What is a soul anyways? I mean, if even our worlds can't figure out the source of consciousness or any of that, who the hell really knows.

I wouldn't call it irrelevant, just not the first thing you should worry about until someone figures out exactly what a soul is - if it's even possible to do that.

Exactly. There are times to think about complicated, important shit, and then there are times when you just don't know enough to get anywhere thinking about it.
