[action] Moving day!
[Jessica has a wagon, a bulbasaur, and several helpful robots. The odd caravan is wearing a light path between the fortress and Beaumont, bearing various bundles of stuff: clothes, bedclothes, a stock of items identifiable as healy things from Sephiroth's home, and various nerd implements, among other things.]

[she's not trying to be nosy, she's just concerned. :c]
See, things can be interesting and not weird. Like that fonbot city, for example! If only we got more stuff like that instead of monsters and music that makes people do...things.

Yeah, I have to admit, the robots are cool. I didn't really mind the monsters, but they mostly just ignored me. Their place is nice, actually. Though I guess I have weird taste.

[she looks sympathetic, and reaches out to pat Jessica's shoulder.] I didn't mean to hit a sore spot. But to be fair, not many people can.
They ignored you? It's good that you were safe, at least, but...I wonder why.
I didn't see it for myself--I stuck to guarding the mansion for Miss Akiha.

My guess is that I look, um, monstrous enough that they figured I wasn't worth the effort. I think there was at least one other person around who they weren't attacking or anything.
Is that where you ended up living?
no subject
Oh, that's-- [awkward. She doesn't want to agree aloud, because Jessica is a nice girl, but Gal does catch herself staring every now and then, still.] Well, at least...you're safe.
[she nods.] I was cooking for them until their actual cook showed up. Now I just do odd jobs around the house.

I never really got into regular cooking. I guess it's too much of a vague thing. And of course Mom and Dad only did microwave meals, so I didn't have anyone to bug me into learning it except Granma.
no subject
Do you mind if I ask--"microwave meal?"
no subject
Uhhh... they're premade meals that you use a microwave oven to cook. That's basically a really fast oven. It works by making the water molecules vibrate and thus heat things up with friction.
no subject
That sounds pretty useful--much be must faster than trying to boil water over an open flame any day.

Yeah, it's amazingly helpful for just about everything. More expensive than cooking from scratch and usually worse for you, but I'll take that exchange for more time to do stuff I like.

[pause. Oh, she's getting carried away, isn't she.]
I'll help you move in first, of course.

Didn't think to make one, since we don't exactly need to make our own stuff, but... I could dirt one together. It won't be exactly the same, since I'm, y'know, not an expert on 'em or anything, but it'll probably work about right. Even if it's pink.

Anything is fine. All the fontech--uh, technology from your world sounds fascinating.
