[ Hands and cheeks pressed against the mirror, the image one would get through the vine would be of a blonde girl all squished against it, before she pulls back, though only barely. She tilts her head and blows against the mirror, looks up, looks down, in a very skittish nature, very energetic, almost. Like a bird trying to find her way out of a closed house.

She knocks on the mirror softly and waits. When nothing happens, she pouts, puffs her cheeks out, then seems to stare directly at the viewer - not that she's aware that this is some sort of communication device. ]

Lost, so lost. So very lost. [ She says in a little wail, her tone a bit of a sing-song like sound, pressing her forehead on the mirror again with the saddest look. ] Lost like the Stars. Must find my way back home, yes, yes, I do, must find the Stars again, too, also, yes. [ She gives a strange wail-like chirp and presses her face to the mirror, looking rather comical, but her eyes, big eyes, golden, so very sad. ] Will the lost Stars be here, yes, no, please, maybe?

[ She presses her hands against the mirror again and wails again. It's almost as if she's acting like a mix of a spoilt child that has just gotten lost and a wary caged bird - and really, that's what she is. ]

[ Well, that's going to gain a jump. Startled, she takes a leap away from the mirror, a little more graceful than a human body is supposed to. She looks around, nervous, skittish - like a baby bird. She's confused and scared and it shows on her face. ]

[ She raises her shoulders, curling a little; she can't help it, she's just a little bird. But then, she notices, the face on the other side of the mirror. Her eyes widen and she stares, lips parted open in awe. Is it magic? It can only be magic! She has never seen such a thing! ]

Are you trapped, there, on the other side of the mirror, on the other side of the glass? [ She asks in a tiny whisper, crawling towards it on her knees, placing her hands on the mirror. She pushes on it, as if she wants to get to the other side too. Then she looks up at the other girl with big, questioning, curious eyes. ]

[a quiet voice replies, the image showing a girl with a dark hood pulled up to obscure her face.]

I think...it depends on what kind of stars you're looking for.

[ Oh, there it is again, a person on the other side. She presses a hand to the mirror, uselessly. ]

Three Stars, yes, they are lost, they are missing. [ Hm... ] Have you seen them, have you?

[ Hnng, that question again. She looks a little taken aback, shaking her head. ] I've never seen them, no, just one, but that's the Fourth, it is not missing, just hiding.

Oh my, what a sad little song! You poor dear! Do you know any happier tunes? There's nothing like a good happy song to cheer you up and set your heart in the right direction, no matter how lost you are!

[ She is expecting the voice now, but she also expects the image - like it had happened before - but only sound comes and she looks... confused. Tilting her head up, she tries to look for maybe a flying creature that is speaking. ]

I know of many songs, yes, I sing them, I listen and I dance, yes, I do. [ She gives up on looking for the voice and traces a vine with her fingertips. ] Will you sing, maybe, sometimes, I'll sing too, with you?

[ A pause. ]

Cats, yes. I knew a cat, once. She loved a Black Dog and the Black Dog loved the cat.

[ It's a good thing Giselle has a nice voice! She would have done video but one of the birds got a bit enthusiastic earlier and forgot his housetraining all over her dress, so she's currently stripped down to her underthings and showing the birds a much more efficient way to get stains out of linen. Goodness, she wouldn't want the Vine to show her in such a state! Someone might see her bloomers!

If Birdie listens, she can probably hear the slopping sound of wet fabric being vigorously scrubbed in the background. ]

Singing is my favorite thing in the entire world! I would be just tickled to sing for you whenever you would like!

I simply adore kitties! I love all of nature's creatures, really, but the cats here have been especially nice, and they have lovely little sopranos! I don't believe I have ever heard of a cat loving a dog, though. Normally I find that they are more along the lines of longstanding arch-rivals! Ooh, I am so pleased that the ones you knew were able to look deep within their hearts to see the beauty within and overcome such nonsense! Hopefully they did not receive too much retribution from their families, and that they are very happy now together!

[ That'd be the reverse, because Birdie could be buck naked and she wouldn't care. She is, after all, a bird. Nudity is... a foreign shame to her.

Nevermind that. You know when kid's eyes shine with happiness? That's what's happening in the little baby bird's face, because singing, for her, is essential to her being. She beams a wide smile of pure joy. And then seems to completely ignore what Giselle is saying and forget about the fact that she still has no idea where she is. ] Ah! What a lovely song, yes, the music, it beats like a heart, it's beautiful, yes, yes, will you sing more, one more time, I'll sing too, we'll sing!

[ This girl seems so childlike to Caprica, even though she looks too old to be a child. She smiles just a little, gently, like a reassurance — she's unsure how else to react. ]

[ Everything is so different and new and... And there are so many new faces! She doesn't seem to know how to react herself, but she gives a helpless little noise as she looks up to the image on the other side of the mirror. ]

[ Something about her tone makes Caprica think she isn't just talking about the stars in the sky. She pauses, then shakes her head uncertainly. ]

[ There's a long pause and Birdie is just looking at Caprica like she had said something extremely silly. She frowns a little, tilts her head, watches her curiously, before lowering her eyes, looking disappointed. ]

I've never seen them, no, just one of them, but that Star isn't missing, just old, just waiting. [ She presses a hand to the mirror like she's trying to figure out how to get to the other side - or maybe she just wants to tug on Caprica's hand because that's what little kids do. ] Do you know where we are, where this is? Is the other side of the mirror different, is it?
