—svāhā. [While at first this may seem like an accidental recording, what with the woman sitting with her eyes closed and caught mid-recitation, it most certainly is not, as she begins speaking again in the same steady tone.]
Heh, I can't tell if Lord Bishamonten even heard that. Guess I won't be getting any guidance from him at the present. Then again, these cats seem as though they are providing help enough. These scrolls certainly are providing decent information.
[Shou reaches down to grab the scroll sitting in her lap, and glances over it quickly. When she returns her gaze towards the mirror, she looks rather amused, for some reason, and when she starts talking again, it's much more excitedly than before.]
Yes, though the animals of this place are decent messengers, I would like to talk with the rest of you. Tell me, in your experience, what sort of place is this? Is it better or worse than where you come from?
[She pauses, relaxing her straight-backed posture as she seems to contemplate something.]
And...as a personal question. Would there happen to be anyone from the Myouren...rather, anyone who could tell me if there is a Buddhist temple here? It does not matter much if there isn't, but it'd be nice to just know.

... Gensokyo, right?
no subject
no subject
Gensokyo in general, well... there's... a lot of people here from there.
no subject
[Shou smiles at the mirror.]
But where is it that you're from? It's obvious by now that you're not from Gensokyo. Are you from the Outside World?
no subject
I think so? I come from a Japan without celestials, youkai, or flying shrine maidens, anyway.
no subject
...Also, my name is Shou Toramaru, avatar of Bishamonten. And you are?
no subject
A-ahah... there's a lot to say about the Outside World... it can't be as interesting as Gensokyo. Then again, it's probably as different for you as Gensokyo would be for me, so...
no subject
No, it's definitely interesting! I hear you have all sorts of things that we don't have in Gensokyo, save for what few things manage to slip through the border. What are those like?
no subject
Like cars, vehicles with wheels that don't need horses. Or airplanes, those can fly through the air.
I-I don't feel like I'm qualified to explain what my world is like, a-ahaha...
no subject
How does here compare, though?
no subject
And no new video game releases...
Shou...! I'm here. I was the only one, but now you're here too, so...!
[Her voice is excited, and the words tumble out quickly. Normally, she tends to be a little more awkward around the veteran members of the Myouren Temple, but right now she's so happy and relieved to see someone from it she doesn't care about her usual hang ups.]
no subject
Ah, Nue! I'm so glad to see you! I hope this place has been treating you well, has it?
no subject
No, I'm glad to see you! Being stuck in this place with no one but those shrine maidens around... [She trails off, shaking her head.] Anyway, I haven't actually been here very long. Aside from the selection of company, though, I've been fine.
[...She doesn't really dislike them as much as she's making it sound. She's just looking out for her youkai street cred.]

...And this Shinto shrine, what about it makes it not a proper shrine?
no subject
The person who made it. If I remember right, she made it because she thought she was holy enough to take being a shrine maiden up as a job so she could have fights.
no subject
[Her face falls slightly, visibly annoyed.]
Oh dear, such a thing wouldn't be a proper shrine at all. ...has a proper shrine maiden been found yet, or is it still being run by that girl?
no subject
Reimu's there. I don't think I have to ask if you know who that is.
no subject
Yes, she seems as though there's not a soul in Gensokyo who doesn't know who she is. It's better for her to be there, she seems like she could take care of it.
no subject
Though this leads me to ask, are you familiar with celestial beings? I don't speak of gods, but beings that can be described as 'angels'?
