[Claire is taking a break from the fair for a bit, and after a while nudged the Vine and asked a cat for a quill pen. The writing that appears is legible but a little unrefined, since she's still not used to penning letters with these fingers.]

I know how hard times can be here, so I'm happy to see everyone enjoying themselves. But I've been thinking, even if no one gets hurt on the outside, there are a lot of things that can trouble people. Things they might not be able to say to someone else's face for one reason or another. However, the Vine is a useful thing, then, isn't it? When we write like this, we can communicate without being afraid.

I'd like to think we could all speak in person without worrying, but I know the world isn't like that. I'm not able to do much, but I can at least listen, and try to help or give advice. I won't ask for any names. The Vine should deliver your messages to me if you ask.

I think that as long as you give it your all when you try to help people... That's the best thing anything can do. ... No one is useless.

I know what you mean. Everyone needs support. I'm glad to hear you have good friends. Are they here with you, by any chance?

Yes. And... I've made a lot of good friend here, too. What about you, Claire-san?

There's no one I know from home here, but I've made plenty of friends as well. Even though some of them have gone home, I'm grateful to have met them.

I'd like to, but there's no way of knowing. Still, the fact that we've met and that we'll think about each other from time to time...that in itself is amazing. Two people from completely different worlds, but their hearts are connected when their thoughts turn to each other. That kind of thing can cross any distance.

That's part if why I think that... this place-- it isn't a bad world to be in. We've been able to meet so many people because of Queen-san.

You're right...ordinary life comes with good things and bad things, too, doesn't it? This is no different.

And it seems like you're focusing on the good things. It helps keep spirits up.

If more people had your attitude, I think they'd be able to work together more easily. I know one too many who always have to pick up on every bad thing that happens.

It's all right to get down sometimes, but if you let it go for a long time it can be hard to get up again.
