[Claire is taking a break from the fair for a bit, and after a while nudged the Vine and asked a cat for a quill pen. The writing that appears is legible but a little unrefined, since she's still not used to penning letters with these fingers.]

I know how hard times can be here, so I'm happy to see everyone enjoying themselves. But I've been thinking, even if no one gets hurt on the outside, there are a lot of things that can trouble people. Things they might not be able to say to someone else's face for one reason or another. However, the Vine is a useful thing, then, isn't it? When we write like this, we can communicate without being afraid.

I'd like to think we could all speak in person without worrying, but I know the world isn't like that. I'm not able to do much, but I can at least listen, and try to help or give advice. I won't ask for any names. The Vine should deliver your messages to me if you ask.

[Things with Kadaj are complicated in general. It's not even a romantic relationship she wants, or anything human, but that's too complicated to explain.]

I remember reading that. It was just awful and silly, making up all those things about people. No one should have paid it any mind.

Have you spoken to all of them about your concern? That you don't wish for your friendships to be affected?

The second sounds like a concern...do you need help making sure she doesn't hurt anyone? I'm not sure anything can be done if she won't listen.

Some people have a hard time expressing their feelings. You might have to go find her and address the subject yourself. She might not understand that not being in a relationship doesn't mean that you two can't spend time together. But if she really cares for you, she'll understand when you talk to her about it. She might just be afraid.

That's a good sign, to start with. If there are any ways to warn others, that might help, too.

You were friends before all this, yes? Then she might be worried that you're uncomfortable. And the only way to find that out is to talk to her, since if you both avoid it, nothing will happen.
