[ Action ⋗ Video ]

[ The Mirrors turn on, showing Lamia returning to the Gardens with a large amount of wild stuff from one of the Wild Places in her arms. She dumps the shapeless material onto the ground.

Imagination...I wonder, is that something I have? If it's necessary to make use of this, then I'll find out...

She reaches out to the material, intending to shape it. If one were to look closely, her already bright green eyes seem to glow and flash. The material changes shape; when it begins to have a resemblance to a tip of a large armored foot, it collapses.

I have the schematics stor--memorized, so this must not be enough. Not nearly enough. I had better go with something small.

She thrusts her hand into the mass. Slowly pulling it back out, she appears to be pulling an object from the wild material while doing so. It quickly becomes obvious that it is a broadsword, and a long one at that. After several seconds of pulling, the blade comes to an end. Lamia swings the weapon with incredible ease, despite the blade being as long as she is tall and most certainly as heavy as it looks. After a moment, she looks over her shoulder towars the Vine, fully aware that it is and has been on. ]

That sound of construction must mean something. Does anyone know what the Queen may be planning? Even a guess?

I looked around, but I couldn't figure out where the noise was coming from.

I wonder how many people here can take care of themselves?

I'm not sure. I can fight, but I know some of my friends can't. I'll protect them if I have to, but they live in different places...

If you can fight, then that's good. Protecting those that can't will be priority.

Ah...my friend Jessica has a "fortress", too. For people to hide in. It's supposed to be a safe place.

[ She thinks back to the time when she and everyone else were trapped in freezing buildings for a weekend, but she can't bring herself to point out that a safe place may not turn out to be helpful. ]

That's good. I'll keep the name in mind. As for names, what is yours?

Oh! I'm Xion. [she straightens a little. She's wearing a hooded sweatshirt instead of her usual coat.]

Xion...?

[ Even so, wearing the hood like that is a bit suspicious...and Lamia, becoming a bit more serious, may inadvertently seem a bit more intimidating now. ]

I believe Alfimi has mentioned that name. How well do you know her?

[she pauses, a little surprised.]

Alfimi? You know her? She lives with us. Me and Sora and Kuja, I mean.

Yes. I know her. She is also...my responsibility, in a way. You and these other people: what are you like?

[someone who looks after Alfimi? She's not insulted by the strange question; in fact, it makes sense to her in that context.]

I don't know Kuja very well. Sora invited her to live with us, but she seems nice. Sora is...

[at this she pauses for a moment. When she speaks again, there's an unmistakable fondness in her voice.]

She's the kindest person I know. She'll do anything for anyone in trouble.

[ ... ... ... ]

Good. That's a relief. In hindsight, I...am not surprised at all that she has managed to surround herself with good people.

[she smiles.]

Alfimi is...I'm proud to have her as a friend. So you don't have to worry.

Alfimi is most certainly her flesh and blood.

I will see what I can do about not worrying. Another question: just where is it that you all live?

Oh, right. It's a treehouse, near the lake. It's a lot bigger now that Kuja added to it on top, so it's the tallest tree by the shore. It's hard to miss.

I would like to visit at some point, then.

Okay. I go outside a lot, but there's usually someone around. Or whenever you're ready, you can just ask over the Vine.

I will be sure to do that. Meeting those Alfimi is keeping close to and where she resides are both priorities.

So you knew her from home, then? I'm glad. She seemed like she was all alone when I met her.

...No, she wasn't alone. But to say we knew each other is misleading.

What do you mean? Did you meet here here, then?

We knew of one-another, but, yes, we met each other for the first time here. She is important to someone important to me, hence my original reason for wanting to keep her safe when I met her.

Ah...okay. That makes sense.

I know this place is--...it's not always good, but I think it's amazing that you can meet people here that you never would have at home.

...I hadn't thought of it that way, but I agree. At the very least, it is good that Alfimi is getting a second--Ah, what am I saying? I shouldn't...
