I have no idea, honestly! That's part of what's so shattering about this, I suppose. But you're right. I refuse to accept explanations that involve the words "monster" or "evil". There must be some line of reasoning, some chain of events that led events to the point I witnessed. I'm simply not privy to it.

The company/government I work for can be a problematic entity, but I had no idea it was capable of taking out it's own citizens. Though in hindsight, I suppose it's really not all that out of character.
