[It's nighttime. The vine shows what appears to be a disoriented young lady, oblivious to the presence of the mirror. In truth, that's not exactly the case; the mirror had been deliberately called, and the apparent confusion is mostly an act. Grace is just doing her best to establish herself to anyone who might be watching as a poor, helpless little girl, pathetic and in need of coddling. She stands from where she had been seated, blinking owlishly and distractedly smoothing the skirt of the white arrival's dress.]

Am... Am I dreaming...?

[No, of course she's not dreaming—that would be too convenient. But it's not like she really has a home to return to, so rather than being upset or enraged by her abduction, she merely finds it annoying. Still, it's annoying in the worst possible way, so she has to fight to keep the helpless stutter in her voice when she speaks next.]

B-but... I thought this place was just something I imagined...

[She turns then, pretending to catch sight of the mirror for the first time.]

Oh! H, hello. [She smiles an uncertain smile.] I d-didn't realize you were th-there. Are, are you showing this to everyone? A-are the people I met before still here...? Please... I d-don't want to be alone in this place...

[A demon, hm? She's pretty relieved to hear that most of her powers are gone, to be honest. She doesn't like sharing space with things more powerful than she is, so it's definitely reassuring.]

I-I believe you...! You d-don't seem like the kind of person that would d-do anything scary like that, s-so...

Mm! I-it's very nice to meet you, t-too!

Thanks. I just want to make a nice new life for myself here. I'm not out to hurt anyone.

[Zenobia really wants an excuse to meet this cute girl in person.] Hey, do you need someone to show you around? Or if you'd just like some company? I know this probably is a strange and troubling time for you...

[Grace weighs the option quickly. She seems to have this girl's favor, and she would rather not risk losing it. Besides, there are still a few hours until sunrise... It can't hurt, really.]

A-ah...! I, I wouldn't want to be a b-bother, a-and it's l-late... S-so, only if y-you'd like to. I, I can kind of remember this place now, s-so...

Well, it is pretty late. If you're tired, I won't bother you. But if you're up for it, I'd really like to meet you in person.

[If that's the case, it's best to do it now. It might raise suspicion if she insisted on meeting at night.]

A-ah, w-well... L-let me change, and th-then perhaps we can walk to the N-Necessities together.

[Zenobia looks delighted.] Wonderful! I guess I'll head out now. [She signs off.]

[She runs from Beaumont to the area where the newcomers appear.] Hello, Grace? It's Zenobia!

[Grace can't help but feel pleased at how obviously happy Zenobia is. She isn't used to using her ~charms~ on other women, but apparently it's not all that different than using them on men. Hardly an hour back in this place and she already has someone under her thumb... Wonderful.]

All, all right. I-I'll see you soon!

[When Zenobia arrives, Grace is already dressed, covered from neck to toe in a dark dress. She even has a pair of white gloves on to cover the skin of her hands, and a closed parasol clutched in one.]

H, hello. [She curtsies.] I-it's good to m-meet you in person.

[Zenobia returns her curtsy with a small bow.] Yes. Oh wow, I love your outfit. So pretty. It really looks nice on you. [Though Zenobia really likes how she looked before, too.]

[Zenobia stares into her eyes.] So, shall we take a walk?

O-oh! Th-thank you. [Shyly, she smooths the skirt with her free hand. When Zenobia stares into her eyes, she blushes and looks away, looking flustered as she peers back up at the other girl through her eyelashes. Laying it on a little thick? Of course not.] A-ah, certainly. [That said, she waits for Zenobia to take the lead.]

[She's just too cute! Zenobia giggles a little to herself, putting a hand on her own cheek, relishing the moment. After seeing that reaction, and noticing the girl is waiting for her, she offers the girl her other hand.]

Shall we?

[Holding hands, so soon? Well, all right. Grace hesitates for a moment, hand half-lifted, before shyly reaching out to take Zenobia's. In other words, she's really playing up the action.]

Y, yes, let's go.

[Zenobia wanted to see if she could get away with it, and it seems to have worked! She relishes the feeling of taking her hand, and begins to walk.]

So, how are you feeling, Grace? I hope being here isn't too bad for you.

F-feeling...? W, well, it's a bit odd b-being back here again, b-but... I, I guess this place isn't really too bad, s-since there are such nice people here...!

I know, right? So many nice people. I think only two have given me grief for my wing. I would have never expected to find myself in such an accepting place. And to have met a new friend already!

Not being in a world where I'm being hunted... Oh man, it's the best.

I, I'm sorry you come from a world like that... I-it must be awful. B-but at least you're not there anymore...!

[This is actually somewhat genuine, shockingly enough. But, then again, maybe it's not so surprising that she's likely to sympathize with a non-human that has been persecuted by humans unfairly.]

[Zenobia smiles, looking somewhat touched by her words.] Thank you. I learned to live with it. Well, until I got caught and sealed away. But yeah, it wasn't a good place for me.

W-well, y-you're not th-there anymore, s-so let's not dwell on it.

[Which means it's time for a SUBJECT CHANGE. She casts around for something useful/not totally boring to ask.]

S, so, what k-kind of p-powers does a half-demon have...?

[Assessing potential threat level/how useful an ally she is, aww yeah.]

Right. Best not to get too caught up in the past.

[She sighs a little bit, thinking about what she's lost, but she smiles again.] Well, I used to be really strong and fast and could use all kinds of ETHER... that's a kind of magic from my world, by the way... but I lost all of that. I'm still pretty nimble, but my limits are closer to what a normal human can do.

I can still heal up real fast. And I can still make pacts with people.

[Well, that's reassuring. It sounds about on par with what she can do, or maybe even weaker. As nice as the idea of manipulating her into being some kind of superpowered attack dog is, this is safer.]

P, pacts?

Yes. If I make a pact with someone, we can communicate over any distance, and I can transfer pain and wounds from them to me. We can even use it to switch places if both of us are willing.

W-wow! Th-that sounds really n-neat...

[This, too, is somewhat genuine. That's much more interesting than the contracts she can form with humans, at least.]

Yes. I am glad I retained that power. I had a couple of pacts made before I was sealed... but as over a hundred years passed, those people died... [She looks sad for only a second before smiling again.]

But like I said, I'm going to make a new life for myself here, so I have much to look forward to.

I, I'm sorry. [Grace can't really relate to the feeling. Not only because she's not really old enough to have watched anyone die, but also because she can't really comprehend being sad about the death of a human.]

Mm! I-I'm going to make the best of m-my t-time here, too! Let's d-do our best together...!

No worries. That was long ago.

Yes! Just hearing that makes me so happy! [She gives Grace's hand a small squeeze.] We'll make it through just fine!

D-does it? I'm glad...! [hesitates, then tentatively squeezes the hand back]
