It's not that awful. Not as awful as it could be, anyway. I got to see my mom again, so I know she's not worrying about me. Time not flowing back home is a bonus. I'm pretty much at the point where if I try really hard, I can convince myself that this is just a vacation with some unfortunate side effects.
