[video] Enter the snotty little brat
[Contacting other people on the Vine? Asking for help? That is a loser thing that only losers do! Which is why the New Kid here has elected to wander off and occupy herself in making a flower crown and then exploring. She's scaling a statue in the memorial garden when the Vine, annoyed at the neglect, starts broadcasting. There are a few moments of unexciting and self-absorbed childhood innocence before she notices that she's on candid camera, at which point her expression darkens with annoyance.]
What're you lookin' at?
What're you lookin' at?

Um... I guess just the Center, really. I had another one, but I don't remember it much. And I was gonna have a real home, too... only now I can't.
Do we get to stay here?
no subject
[She nods, understanding, with another smile, though she is a bit saddened by this.] You never know what might happen. You can live in any kind of home you want here.
The Queen brings us here to stay, but sometimes people return home without warning. No one quite knows why. Some people have been here a long time, as much as six months.

I don't wanna go back. I like it better here. Nobody to yell at you.
no subject
No, no one will yell at you. I hope you'll like it here. There aren't many other children here, but there are many things to do. What do you most like to do, back home?
[As they approach the Viridian Pavilion, a few Pokémon appear, poking their heads out from the foliage to regard the two curiously.]
no subject
What are those?! Are they pets?
no subject
Those are Pokémon. They're animals that live in this area. They're quite friendly and intelligent. They're not exactly pets, but you can play with them, if you'd like.

Pokemon... [OMG THIS PLACE IS THE BEST PLACE. She immediately approaches a nearby deerling, stopping a few feet away to look at it with caution. She squeaks and hops back when it pokes its head toward her, then reaches forward to pat it. A smile spreads across her face.]

[She watches Laura play with the Deerling, then comes forward and pets one of them herself. It nibbles on her sleeve.] If you'd like to move on to the food, they'll probably follow, and you can play with them some more. [Though she says this easily; if Laura's not quite hungry enough, they can stop to play here.]
